To everyone who is saying that this doesn't add up. It kinda doesn't but ill try. I think the reason she didn't wear a life jacket was that she is a strong swimmer, she had swum In this lake before and she might have just forgotten. I also believe/read that she and her son went swimming at the same time not that she left him on that boat alone. He must have got to safety somehow/pulled himself back onto the boat. She could've got stuck on some sort of plant at the bottom or could've experienced some sort of cramp or belly ache. Still to this day I am praying that she is all right and her son will be ok after this traumatic event happened.

We wear life jackets when swimming in a deep lake in case of currents. It doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t swim.

Chichie AMD the sheriff explained that what most likely happened was that she was swimming with her son and when things got bad she helped him back on and when he turned around she was gone. they explained that in that lake in the afternoon it gets very windy and since the boat wasn’t anchored it was probably moving away from them, she must’ve realized and did what she had to for her son.

they were both swimming together when water currents started picking up (or, at least, thats how i understand it). she was prob panicked and not thinking clearly. putting her son on the boat was his best chance for survival even if he had a chance to fall off. she prob intended to get on too but was swept away. but, i mean, i obviously dont know what happened.

lake piru is apparently known for having quicksand currents that sweep even experienced swimmers under the lake and sudden cold funnels of water that can be overwhelming to swimmers. they have several lawsuits against them for unsafe conditions. it's possible that even though naya was an experienced swimmer she was swept under and was unable to come back up. her son himself said 'mummy went into the water and didn't come back out', so if thats anything to go by, its very likely she has unfortunately drowned.

Some people seem to forget that her son is still a 4 year old. Just because he said that he climbed up doesn't mean she didn't help him. Just because he said that she went swimming doesn't mean that she didn't accidentally slip and fall and he took that as her going for a dive. Naya loved her son too much to commit suicide as many people want to think. You have to remember that a perspective of a 4 year old is very different and he could have took something out of context.

There is something so off about this
1.if she supposedly went swimming so that mean her stuff that she bring with her is either on the boat or in her car (I think they should investigate those little detail like checking her phone) also the cellphone tower record every phone conversation maybe the investigator should listen to her latest phone call and try to match every thing together
2. When she get on that boat she had to have her life vest on so it mean she took it off when she supposedly went swimming but she didn’t took her son vest off in that case she might be intentionally try to keep her son safe but not herself
3.Her parking is a bit off the normal if she is under the influence the staff that let her rent the boat could have notice her behavior is off but if she is in a rush (question the staff ask them if there would be any reason for her to be in a rush)
4.the investigator should also check her apartment for any sign that seem a bit off and also question all her friends and family (ask them who last seen her what is her behavior like when they last seen her)
The fact that she was walking in a hurry with her son behind her makes me think she was running from something or someone. They probably killed her....

Imagine her trying to swim to the boat as it drifts away and she starts to fatigue but is desperately trying her best to make it and her son is on the boat screaming for her and then she starts to cramp up and is trying to keep her head above water but she's starting to lose energy at a rapid pace then she unwantingly takes a gulp of water against her will and starts to cough and choke on it and all her adrenaline has peaked to the point her heart is almost jumping out of her chest because she's afraid that this is the end...and ashe makes one last attempt she succumbs to muscle spasms and starts to go under the water but shes completely conscious and then it finally hits her there is no escape and shes losing sight of the boat and her son and she lets out a scream but because shes under water nobody hears it and because of said scream more water rushes into her body and fills her lungs and she instinctively takes a breath and now her nostrils fill her brain with water and she slowly dies with the saddest defeated expression on her face and now her final resting places is the dark abyss that is Lake Piru....tragic

Tosha Gentry what we’re not going to do is victim blame. she probably didn’t put on a life vest because she didn’t think she would need one. she might have slipped off of the boat and got caught on something in the water, if this is the case she obviously wasn’t expecting to be needing the life jacket. absolutely heart wrenching and now is not the time to be judging the decisions she made in her (hopefully not) final moments.
I hope they find her, she is an amazing actor and she rocked her roles and was such a nice soul.

Hannah Bumbalough say she did leave the boat and went with someone else. who would she have gone with and why would she leave her 4 year old son alone on a boat? it wouldn’t make much sense in my opinion. i believe they have searched on land as well in case she made it to shore but they’re most likely searching in the water based on what her son said. while i hope she’s safe and can reunite with her family alive, drowning or dying of hypothermia isn’t as uncommon as you would think. especially in a big and deep lake like the one she and her son went to.

Los Angeles CA why do I feel like her son dropped something and she tried to retrieve it for him hence “mommy went swimming” on purpose, but to be tangled in plants would mean the plants needs to have had her tied down and held pretty securely to ensure one cannot escape. Kind of terrifying and unlikely.
My theory is she took her son to hang out with him “one last time” before she decided to jump off of that boat. She probably told him to stay on the boat and he listened. I don’t know how long he was on there in order for him to fall asleep but I’m almost certain that is what happened. I don’t see this being an accident.
