Idk if I should bring this here, but a lot of people get upset about the fact that Jungkook gets a lot of attention being good at almost everything he does, while matter of fact he got many insecurities, he does his best because he hates disappointing others but never to show off his sport skills, he always states that he's ugly or not the most handsome in the group maybe because when he was younger never got praised for being handsome, he always asks fans tell me why you like me or give me 3 reasons why you love me, when in fact he's a hardworking, amazing beautiful, talented, shy, awkward and clumsy guy any girl would like to have him, or any guy would like to befriend him, although he might not laugh at your jokes sometimes because he takes too much time to get the joke or he might beat you at any sort of competitions he's a caring person and Minwoo is just the perfect match for him, asking him questions about what he prefers and praising him for being good at climbing just puts my mind at ease that he's taking care of him, like a good hyung or a cool father!

Our all Bangtan boys are like this. No matter how much they become famous or rich, they always remain humble and down to earth which is actually included in their personalities. you are right about that but for Jungkook, manners or not, seniors or not, he is extremely shy and he puts himself down all the time, even when he is directly talking to the fans or with his members, when he doesn't need to be respectful much, even though the boys fawn all the time over him being the golden maknae, being good at everything, being handsome ect, he will either look down and have a blank face or a shy look and try to pretend like he didn't hear it, or he wil get embarassed and be like no no no and give a shy laugh
Jungkook works super hard yet he always puts himself down and is very hard on himself, he is quite the perfectionist and extremely competitive, even the members have said that alot like Namjoon saying, when kookie was sick during young forever promotion "I wish he won't be so hard on himself, it's not his fault"

It's a cultural thing. It's actually considered rude to say thank you if someone compliments you. I bet you anything in order for him to be where he is today he genuinely doesn't have a low self esteem. Who he shows on interview is for the fans and mostly Korean fans so he follows Korean cultural norms and acts and speak as he was raised but to genuinely have a low self esteem is more than just words you speak to others. He probably has very high self esteem and higher than most people in order to be able to be SO successful and selfishly pursue his dreams, he speaks down on himself because it is considered very rude to say thank you when someone compliments you and he doesn't want to appear arrogant to his fans. If you're American or from a western country it's more than normal to accept a compliment in fact we see it as low self esteem if you don't but over there its having grace. Ultimately who he shows on camera is the tip of the iceberg and he's so much more than that.
+Amy Taeminnie and what Rapmon said its still something he told the public and maybe he said it so people (Koreans) think even more fondly of Jungkook and don't think he is arrogant and that things come easily to him. Honestly I know his self esteem isn't perfect or else he wouldn't care if others thought him arrogant and everybody in the world could benefit from more self-love that's never a bad thing but he doesn't genuinely deprecate himself or else he wouldn't be able to be so good at everything he does. And what Rapmon, Jungkook and BTS presents to the world is the tip of the iceberg I mean we all do it our words don't always match how we feel. My point is he probably feels good about himself most of the time or else he wouldn't have so much much success and nonverbal confidence (the way he carries himself for example and the fact that he is good at a lot of things.)
SongofBeauty i didn't say he has low self esteem or that he is extremely self conscious, I just said that it's not just about manners, because sure they all act like that to be polite, as it is part of the culture, but it is also jungkook's personality to be quite shy, to be hard on himself and work hard, and that he, through that, gets lost in details and does not see how much he really achieved, it's good in fact to want to be better and better, but it's also good to just stop once and a while and say "hey i'm proud of myself I did good", and jungkook doesn't do that often, he just keeps on pushing himself more and more
also you can't just see the stage persona, because frankly, from the little personality he shows through tv (after all we only know the kookie on tv), with the members/people he knows/fans, he carries himself with big confidence and he feels comfortable to be truely himself, but once he is in the outside world and worst with strangers he holds a shyer more nervous posture
Anyways, what i meant from all this is that it's not just about manners, he's not like hating himself, but when he says "no i'm not good enough" part of him does believe that, and i don't think that's just an image he keeps up to seem modest

I'm 16 and I've been going rock climbing every summer with my 19 yr old sister and 20 yr old brother and my parents I'm really good at it but last summer we went rock climbing up a cliff like hill I was just barely higher than my brother and sister when I lost my grip and started slipping. My brother grabbed my arm as my sister grabbed my leg and my mom screamed. I have never been so scared in my life!!
I know, it was one of my pet peeves. Whenever I tried it, I'd get so scarred cause my foot be too huge for the rock or something. I suck. 😝

Just finished watching the third episode and i must admit if i wasnt already impressed with Minwoo, I was even moreso after this last episode. Not only is he a really nice guy but he knows how to have fun, knows what JK needs not wants and wants to bond even moreso with him, these two make a really awesome pair, i really do hope they continue catching up after the show ends.

Shinhwa are legends, but I didn't know much about Minwoo until this. He's such a cool man, and I feel so grateful to him because he's taking good care of Jungkook. I instantly like people who are good to my boys, so he's got my support and appreciation for that.
Minwoo is definitely a perfect match for Jungkook. Since Jungkook likes working out, he would absolutely enjoy these activities. And since his hyungs aren't really a big fan of working out, meeting Minwoo is just... I lost words! Their perfect!!

Honestly Minwoo is just the perfect sunbae to do this with Jungkook. He genuinely cares about him and what he likes and puts effort to spend a good time doing something both of them like. He's not treating Jungkook as inferior but instead is praising him for doing good in that kind of stuff. I really love how this is going, Minwoo should be more appreciated! Minwoo, Jungkook fighting!

Saeho is an ignorant ass in EVERY show. He's just a freaking attention whore who talks over everyone else. I was enjoying Photo People in Paris with JaeJoong and some of my other favorites sooo much and then BOOM he showed up.

his makeup in the mvs or at concerts is done in a way to make him look older. Probably so the noonas won't feel like they're crushing on a little boy XD When a normal makeup palatte is used or he isn't wearing any make up (which is more times than a lot of fans realise) he looks well his age lol.

just discovering this now, months after I got into BTS and Jungkook here is melting my heart :') there's something about his naivety and shyness here and the general way in which he conducts himself that is really endearing to me. He's so respectful too which is lovely to see. I'm not surprised that he absolutely aced the rock climbing on his first go after years haha. It's really cool seeing him interact with Minwoo and gain a firsthand insight from such an experienced and accomplished person in the industry! Now onto the next episode
