I think it’s matches up with his other albums. The thing is, it’s a completely different style. This album is an in depth look at himself. Really taking it personal. Hard to find something like this nowadays or even in general. Every single song has some sort of connection to himself and his life and experiences. If you don’t see depth and narrative in this album, then give it another few listens. There is contrast, discussions of right and wrong, struggles-both internal and external-, and emotion. Love and Loyalty, I agree we’re probably the weakest tracks he’s made, but they were songs for his SO, not for everyone else. I feel like more than anything, this album was for Kendrick, that’s why he says that this is his favorite album. You can have your opinions, but I think that this is still an incredible album.
