This song would be my favourite song of this album (besides zombie) if the other songs weren't as good as this. And thus, day6 continues it's "no bad songs" streak. I love these guys to pieces.

it’s not a coincidence they took a hiatus when they did. i mean this album screams their exhaustion and every bit of their hearts just like every album. i mean looking at the lyrics of almost every song, it talks about the days feeling the same and then needing to get back to normal. like looking into the lyrics more actually like reading them rather than just listening or singing, like it absolutely broke my heart. okay that’s enough from me imma just go cry some more
in contrast, negentropy is brighter, lighter and full of hope. and that, in a way, highlights the importance and purpose of "demon" even more; to address and talk about these things. because love and hope only emerge after the acceptance you gain by sharing your thoughts and feelings. the boys are growing and so are we. and well, that's how I look at it.

@@user-qp7ih6qt1t I think it's sort of like a toxic relationship where no one wants to be toxic but one is probably going through problems or depression or they just keep fighting and it's slowly influencing the partner (I'm just gonna refer to the one going through problems as a he and the lover as a she) He realizes that their relationship is dragging her down and that she's no longer as cheerful as she was before and he knows that if they keep up this relationship, he will never be able to make her go back to how she was before, but at the same time he can't let her go because he loves her too much and can't live without her :(
@@user-qp7ih6qt1t In my perspective, it's about someone who's not in a good place and who's not feeling well and he sees that their mood was actually affecting their partner slowly.
Like they said that the partner used to be happy and fine, was their light and used to look at the sky thinking it's pretty is now starting to feel low too (and because of them). When they walk, they look at the ground instead of watching the beautiful sky and the darkness of the sky (them) is overpowering the light of the moon (the partner).
And the song is basically them realising that they affected negatively their partner and that they're afraid because they can't make them happier like they once was...

I love how this song portrays that in a relationship if one is unstable or unhealthy he/she can bring the stable/healthy partner down.
No matter how much you love a person, your own state of mind will always take a toll on your loved ones. That's why they say you should heal yourself before getting into a relationship. You can't expect the relationship to cure you. You can't expect your partner to take all responsibility for your happiness.

I feel like this explains very well how most of us feel afraid about telling our friends our problems no matter how many times they tell us they are there for us. It also makes me so afraid to even think that sungjin is maybe going through this because I don't want him to have something that i have that makes me feel so sad. I only want him to be happy and that's all. My heart goes out to anyone who feels this way and we'll get through it together 💜

even though it’s only been a day since this song was released...i can already remember the lyrics by heart. this song is definitely one of the most beautiful day6 songs. this song was written by sungjin...after the news about several members experiencing psychological anxiety came out, i can’t help but wonder...just what was going through sungjin’s head when he wrote this song? “i can’t let you go, but i can’t hold onto you either…” sungjin has never seemed like the type of person to speak up about his true feelings. perhaps it’s because of his responsibility as the leader, to support and keep the band together...while jae had talked about his feelings, sungjin had always stayed quiet - but it doesn’t mean that he has been fine just because he had never said anything. i really hope that jae and sungjin would feel better soon, and that young k, wonpil and dowoon would stay strong and be alright themselves. mydays, let’s always support and love day6.

Me being a person who struggle to keep up with my problems, cant think properly, have lots of problems, dealing with anxiety and depression for 3 years than I found her. I started to open up to her, and we became close. Even tho I feel like a crap and feel like I dont deserve her ( she is such an amazing person )...but she always supports me through my sadness. She is like an Angel, she makes me feel so happy, she is said she is happy that I am here in this world and I deserve every happiness, she said she is lucky to have me, she make me feel so much love and I have never feel so much appreciated by other. Zombie was actually my favorite song on this album but when I heard "Afraid", not knowing the lyrics yet, I felt the pain (which only proves music is a universal language and it is where Day6 is really good at). And when I saw the translation, I can't stop crying. The lines are so deep. Day6 really never fails to make me cry.
