fun fact! "the zone" is actually called a flow state! it's a well researched topic, it's that sort of feeling when your thoughts become more conceptual and you're just calm+focused on what you're playing (and you'll probably lose track of time). It can happen with lots of other activities too, not just video games! There's a lot more brain activity in different parts of your brain when you're in flow, highly recommend looking it up!

any ways on getting into the zone more and more often?
Asking bc whenever I used to do that (whether it's with all-nighters, work, workouts, cooking, drawing, writing down drafts of whatever writing piece, etc.) everything goes smoothly, I complete a lot of the stuff I wanted, and everything ends impressively (and if not impressively then at least not in a dumpsterfire kind of ending). Nowadays it's rare for me to get into the zone so when I do I cling onto it like it's the only priority in the world bc I know if I let that zone fade away, I won't ever get it back for a long time (think months or even longer than that) and when I try to get back, I'll never complete as much or do things as well and smoothly. Taking all that into consideration you can imagine how frustrating it is to have that zone fade and how helpless one can feel right after.

Awesome to see the Rhythm Heaven series getting the love it deserves! Something that helps me stay calm during a high-stakes run (though, thankfully the stakes have never been *this* high, except on "Try For Perfect!" attempts.) is taking a breath in for four beats, and then out, in time with the song. Makes me feel focused and in-sync with it. Sometimes I time my breathing with certain prompts (like the spiders in Packing Pests) but I dunno if I'd recommend that ;^u^

Rhythm Heaven aficionado here: The "hits that your unsure of whether they're mistakes or not" are referred to as "barely" hits. They do not count as hits and will automatically end a perfect run (aside from a few exceptions in the DS game).

Tried to get into speedrun lately and it is STRESSFULL
I've been getting into beat saber lately and I have to say my best runs are when I'm not trying to 100% perfect the run. Whenever I'm like "huh that was nearly perfect let me try it again" I always put more pressure on myself and do worse lol. Now I have turned off the hud, score, combo meter, etc and just play. I don't see my score until the end. It's more fun and immersive too getting all the text outta the way.

OSRS Jad. Fighting through almost an hour of easy monsters just to get two-shot by Jad is ROUGH. Or even getting to Jad’s healers only to miss a single prayer. He’s TOTALLY beatable, but it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
Thankyou jaiden, for years i have wondered the name of this game as i used to play it on my DS as a child but could never remember the name and finally you have answered my question, ill be able to get re-hit with nostalgia once more
I never imagine Jaiden being a speedrunner as much as a person that suffers while timing themselves from start to finish.

Going for all perfects was pretty dang hard took me months for the last remix but still a 10 out of 10 rhythm game one of my absolute favorites
just a friendly btw: the "double input" in the credits game isn't a double input, you're supposed to hold A+B on square 1 and release on square 2.

Hopefully I get to see more fresh faces tackle the All Medals category, it's such a solid run because it's less about extreme time saves and more about showing off your expertise with the game.

So can you confirm that playing on a Wii loads faster and that's where the time save comes in? Or is there something else as well?

@@edwardnygma8533 The only thing I know that's truly faster is resetting.
Instead of having to go into the menu and resetting for the skip, you can press the reset button on the Wii and it boots you right back up into the game.
There's no reset button on the Wii U console.

Nice game play, I could never get that far! Also, horror games give me the most anxiety not only bc their scary but also the pressure to finish always gets to me! Your not the only one who gets heart attacks over video games 😅
Those "Little mistakes" are called "Barely". Barely hits are counted as a miss or as a hit depending on the minigame on older RH games. Starting on Fever though, all barely hits are counted as misses.
However, in an older rhythm heaven game, you could get a Superb medal while getting all barely hits lol (lockstep is the best example).
They also didn't count against perfect runs, making getting a perfect in lockstep much easier in Rhythm Heaven DS compared to Megamix on the 3DS

I will say some of the animations looks so cool and was in ways I didn’t expect, when she was talking about FF2 animated was a version of the robot but it was her drinking water and it just made me realize woah that’s so good I don’t want to stop looking at it, now I can’t finish a glory of a video because im looking at a smooth sphere robot human head
Edit: this also happens in the tap troupe sun section for remix 10 right after and then the discord thing, some of this stuff just seems so realistic but yet not and I can’t stop thinking about it
The eyes animations in this are absolutely wonderful!
12:13 A few different reasons!
- You advance the menu by releasing 'A' after pressing it. Since this is essentially a menuing speedrun, how fast you can press AND release 'A' makes a huge difference
- The Korean Wii version is the fastest overall
- A hard reset on Wii is faster than the pause reset on WiiU
Congrats on the run and hopefully that mod can hurry up and verify it soon! ...wait.
