lol I love how you paused right before that chorus hit and you were like 'oh it's kinda slow' and I just laughed bc I knew it was coming. Catch all of their title tracks if you want to have your mind blown out - Deja Vu is their *slowest* title track. Deja Vu was a collab with the mobile game King's Raid, so this one takes place outside of their 'normal' storylines. These girls deal in gothic horror and dark fantasy and every one of their MVs tells a story. Yeah Dami's the main rapper and yes her voice is normally like that.

Dreamcatcher is an amazing group. I haven't stanned a girl group since 2NE1. They brought me out of my kpop hibernation.

DreamCatcher is a really unique group. There’s really no other kpop girl group like them. They are a pop group but they tend to mixed in a bit of jrock influence in to their music with a darker theme and it’s just beautiful to watch. This is probably their “slower” title tracks. I’d recommend “Good Night” or “You and I” next, those are my favorite choreographies

You definitely won’t regret getting into Dreamcatcher! They’re so so good and definitely have a pop rock sound that has a lot of J-Rock influence making them quite unique from other girl groups.
They’re know for having hard choreographies on par with boy groups and there’s a lot to check out. They have the nightmare storyline that starts with their debut mv “Chase Me” and ends with “Piri”.
Their last comeback “Scream”was the beginning of a new storyline that’s just starting. “Deja Vu” was a song they made for a game called raid and it’s not a part of any storyline so you actually chose a very neutral place to start that won’t throw you off should you choose to follow their storyline or not. I recommend doing so but it’s whatever you prefer🤗

In all these years I've been listening to kpop I've never found a group with similar sound to Dreamcatcher. It's like they are their own genre! Deja Vu was given to a video game, that's why it was made to fit the theme of the game, but all their songs have slightly rock sound.

I love Dreamcatcher! They have a storyline, so you should start with Chase Me. This song is a collaboration with the video game King's Raid so the mv has elements from the game.

I'm so glad you checked them out! They are definitely a very unique group in terms of sound and concept. 2 of my absolute favourite songs from them are Scream and Piri (in terms of both sound and choreography).
Also - their "Nightmare" series has a story progression so I'd definitely suggest watching it in order - Chase Me, Goodnight, Fly High and You and I. (Fly High can also go first as it as a sequel prequel).
They also have some fantastic Japanese releases (Endless Night). I don't think I would suggest reacting to them since Japanese companies are a lot more liberal with handing out copyright but I'd definitely say listen to them.
They also have many B sides with choreography as well as many great covers!

A.C.E brought me to you in the beginning and now you're reacting to Dreamcatcher, the only girl group that's ever caught my attention enough to actually follow. I'm so happy! So a few things about them: a good number of their MVs are connected in a story. Deja Vu was a collaboration with Vespa, the company behind King's Raid, so as far as I know it's a standalone, although I have read a theory that includes it in the Nightmare arc.
The Nightmare arc begins with their song Fly High- it was their third release but it was stated to be a prequel. The story then goes to their debut, Chase Me, and the song after it, Good Night. It continues in You & I (although some people will argue that You & I comes right after Fly High, I've also seen it said that the girls themselves confirmed it was after Good Night, so I'm not 100% sure), and then What and Piri and ends with their Japanese debut, Breaking Out. It's a really convoluted and involved sort of thing and you'll get sucked in trying to make sense of the story, fair warning!
Their newest song Scream is the start of a new arc- and also their best choreography imo, it's amazing.
Their title tracks are all rock-ish, some lean closer to metal- Endless Night, their latest Japanese release is just straight-up metal. Their b-sides though run the gamut of genres. I've even heard one of their songs, In the Frozen, referred to as "Israeli psytrance" which is not a genre I'd ever heard of lmao

I've been stanning them almost since their debut and they NEVER disapoint (they are also one of my ultimate girlgroups).
I also saw them live in 2018 and they were insane, they have such strong and energetic choreos and they still manage to sing live. They are so talented yet many people are still sleeping on them :(

The alto you like is Dami, and she's actually the group's main rapper and lead dancer! She does have an incredible singing voice though and you're right-she can go MUCH higher! She can actually hit the second-highest note in the group. You should definitely check out the song Shadow that she and Siyeon did. In the slow version Dami really gets to show off her power and range. I definitely recommend watching both the original and slow version's lyric videos. The MVs are just clips from the show they're promoting, so it's nice not to be distracted by them and to have the voices distinguished.

This is represented the act of betrayal because of greed. At the first, you see this girl at the first scene that walks towards the throne and then get devoured by "a smoke" (or darkness), she devoured by the greed, aiming take the throne from the princess, so she could be the queen herself.
At the first "sword scene" we see the princess wearing black dress while standing, aiming sword at this girl (our first girl that devoured by the greed) wearing white while on the ground. This symbolize the first deja vu. She feel like this scene has happen before. But the real scene is at the second "sword scene" where the role is reversed, the princess holding the sword while wearing beautiful gown and flower crown, meanwhile the girl is using black and looking evil. This mean that the princess already know about the girl's greed to take the throne, but she forgive her, because she is her friend. Well, at the end you know that the girl end up betrayed the princess...
That's the main story of this MV. It's a collaboration with a game and there's a game version of this MV too. I think the storyline has a same topic as this MV. In the game's mv, we have 2 main characters that goes on to a journey to fight the evil/monster. At the end of the journey, one of them using a dark/evil power to resurrect the other one and then both of them end up on the evil side, going against the humanity. It's pretty epic tho

Their movements have a lot of symmetry, strange and creepy movements, like being stuck a knife 11:34 and then it seems that it is Dami who finishes stabbing Siyeon, her choreography is more theatrical because they are telling a story with their songs. The concept of them is mysterious, suspense or horror, and obviously, like everything in kpop, the videos are related.

id recommend the dance practive to "Good night" at least thats one of the dances that leaves me slackjawed everytime i watch it. the girls themselves say "Chase me" is the hardest because of abrupt movements while singing.

Dreamcatcher is awesome, you should watch more of them. Everything they do is great. They're really one of a kind in kpop, no other group sounds like them. The closest thing you hear is Babymetal, and they're cool, but way different. Their abrubptness is one of the things I like most about them, the contrast is cool.
