Can we just talk about his vocal progress. He always mentions how smoking destroyed his vocals, but in actuality every year they have just strengthened. He's come so far and should be more proud of himself.

@@Mickelina81 He quit smoking for the reason that he doesn't want his beautiful lips and gums to darken. The darkening is irreversible even with cosmetic treatments so it scared him. He loves to be pretty that he can't give that up.
Yeahhh I feel like maybe he knew the smoking was changing his voice and to keep it from not getting ruined, he had to work harder and find new techniques and it ended up improving his voice

Honestly speaking, i was totally immersed with his singing voice that i totally forgot that he is also a rapper if that rap clip wasn't played HAHAHAHAHAHA and I also forgot that he can also slay drums and piano. Such a talented person. I mean, Idols from SM are no Joke,right? Anyways, it was a great video and a great reminder that Heechul can do anything. Fighting!

Heechul was the flower boy, always prettier than any female idol (well, true) and therefore they made him sing higher and less since his rock-ballad voice didn't fit the way they wanted him portrayed: soft and feminine.

I didnt see anyone talk about this on the comments, so I wanted to give some background info. The clip where they mention his bad singing was from years ago, definitely over a decade at this point. At around this time, Super Junior would've been rookies and Heechul hadn't developed his vocals yet; he didn't practice singing often, so he wasn't getting consistent, stable sounds. After he messed up pretty badly during a live performance, he started taking singing more seriously and this is the result of his effort. In my opinion, I honestly think he did improve a lot from when they first debuted, and I respect him a lot for the amount of progress hes shown and I hope to see more growth and songs from him in the future.
It’s sad that he couldn’t really be with the group anymore, I’m p sure he goes out periodically or something but because of his accident he can’t do those kinds of dances for very long anymore
U got some points wrong. His voice cracked a bit once and it's very normal. But the hate he got was too much after which he limited himself. Second he was supposed to be the main vocalist in TRAX with jungmo but due to talent management issue he went back to his hometown. Still in Suju he was singing alot but dumbheads spoiled it for him. After his 2006 severe accident, he had problems in throat and 7 long steel rods. Still having them and poor him never got rest. He bleed while singing during those times cause it was unhealed still gave everything for petals and elf. Am so proud of him for not giving up. U should check King if Masked Singer, Generation X. It's him. Check it out

Heechul's rock enthusiast soul is my favorite part of him, that's why I love his solo song and his discography with Jungmo as M&D and Kyunghoon as Universe Cowards. Although he fits well in Super Junior as a kpop singer I love seeing his rock singer side as well.

You missed one, when he sang with Lee Hong Ki in Immortal Songs 2 they won first place that day, it was amazing. As a singer I can say that his problem is not that he can't sing it is that everyone in Super Junior sing at a higher key than him so singing on a note that is higher than you is a bit difficult, you either sing too high or too low, you can see that his songs and his covers are amazing.
This vid reminded me the fact that Heechul sang the Korean National Anthem for his audition into SM 🤣

It's so sad he broke his leg so early in his career and couldn't perform with all the SuJu members. Heechul is actually very kind and considerate. He opted out of most SuJu concerts cos his legs couldn't keep up with the whole concert performance. I love his singing and performance and he's so multi talented. Heechul is my bias in SuJu. Heechul and I have similar voices. He's so adapted to rock ballads that his voice is powerful and stable. I usually only sings rock and alternative, so thanks to him I learnt to train my voice like that lol
Heechul really suits rock ballads, and suju songs don't always call for that. Which is why some people criticise his voice, yet he can pull off tone and style unlike so many of the other members. They are all so talented, but have different specialities.

Among SJ members I love Heechul's voice more than SJ vocal line. Because i loved how raspy his voice is. It suits in rock-ballad genre or for opening of an anime. His singing voice when combined with bass guitar/electric guitar sounds so eargasm to me. Maybe because i like rock genres more

I think people are so used to seeing him fooling around in TV shows that they forget there’s a reason why he’s famous enough to be in them. For example, when I first got into Kpop I thought he was an actor or a comedian, not once did it cross my mind he was in idol, but it turns out he is, and a great one for that matter.

He has such like a rock star voice and if sm had nurtured that more from the start omg... they want him to be very feminine with his singing which isn't a problem but his voice doesn't suit that style as much as suits a very rock or edgy style. He's impeccably talented and he really has improved so much throughout the years. On a side note, his rap is soooooo good as well and that should be recognized too. As well as his instrumental skills he's an all around idol which i really respect. Also just his personality he's real and funny and talented and he deserves all the love and support
