I heard from the Taiwanese channel that I follow, that China has really open up in ALL areas except just two, publishing and TCM. That makes China very open, not many countries allow 100% foreign ownership of industrial companies (my country, Singapore, does). Not allowing publishing is probably to ensure Western narratives that mostly lie to destabilize countries are not out of control (and of course companies that don't want to abide by Chinese laws should be banned, as in ANY other country). I am always amazed that polls of leaders who did stupid anti-China antics ALWAYS go up in their countries, e.g. Japan, Philippines, USA, India, etc., as it shows that the people in those countries are really brainwashed to be anti-China. No wonder these countries are NOT progressing. How does ANY country progress when its citizens are NOT thinking critically, and lap up anything thrown to them? Just sharing thoughts.

"s it shows that the people in those countries are really brainwashed to be anti-China. No wonder these countries are NOT progressing. How does ANY country progress when its citizens are NOT thinking critically, and lap up anything thrown to them?"
      This is personal responsibility myth.
Human psychology is a science. If we can predict how humans behave, can we not develop our political and economic system around it? Its time to stop blaming humans for behaving like humans, and understand the relevance of Scientific Socialism / Marxism. This is why China is so powerful, because they apply science to their economics and politics. While the best thing the western governments can do is blame their citizens for the failures of their countries (scapegoating minorities, blaming thieves instead of poverty, etc etc)

Of course these countries that create anti China fake news aren't progressing.
If they are prosperous and progressive, they won't be filled with so much anger n hatred n keep lying about China all the time. I seldom listen to the Japanese n Phillipinoe media but the Indian media like gravitas n firstpost are the targets of my most frequent attacks

You see this is how the Anglo American world works, when they are declining, instead of doing something to improve itself, it choses to suppress other countries' progress and growth, kinda if I don't do well, I make sure you don't do better than me mindset, it is a very backward, close-minded way of thinking. China however on the other hand, constantly striving to do better, not necessarily trying to outcompete the West but definitely trying to outcompete its yesterday's self.

Jerry - a much needed video. As an American, I think our government feels intimidated with China's enormous success but it's fueled by old outdated stereotypes about China's Communist Party. We've been brainwashed into believing that Communism is bad and evil not realizing China's government has many elements of Capitalism woven into its government. Some things take time to change and knowledge is power. Thanks again for shedding some light on this topic .... appreciate it 👍❤️🕊️

You could easily go for the low blow with "*are your enemy*" but you've never faltered. Our politicians and media may be horrible and ignorant people, but I'm glad you don't paint them as "the enemy". It puts it into our decision how we choose to see them, and giving that choice (with a "do your research" warning) helps give us agency over our own opinions.

In fact, it was American politicians who gave up on China. When China set up the Belt and Road Initiative, it wanted the United States to participate, but the United States was unwilling, so China turned to Asian and European countries.

Great report, Jerry! These foreign business leaders just have to go out and walk the streets of Beijing or Shanghai (the Dutch PM most certainly would as there is an ASML office in Shanghai) and they will find out China is far from collapsing.

@@jerrystakeonchina799 I started sailing at 60 and this regatta in 2017 was my first international sailing event , we were what they call a Corinthian crew , the mean average age was 662 and we managed to come 13th amongst 26 international groups with some being crewed by the young Kiwis who had just won the Americas cup, apart from the joy of racing and mixing with the various nationalities and cultures what stayed with me the most is what i learned about China , its people and more importantly the care its government took to look after its people, in discussion with those locals we interacted with i discovered that the CCP place great enthesis on providing and promoting sports like sailing by providing fleets of different class yachts that those interested in sailing could use and in doing so removed the high cost of personal investment that would otherwise stop a individual from pursuing the sport, i also learned that all high school students regardless of gender and financial position could participate and that if they showed promise could receive a state funded scholarship to become a professional sailor and if they did pursue this activity the CCP also provided incentives for the family to be part of the sport. A interesting fact is that most of those engaged to teach this sports are young Australian and New Zealand professional sailors , i was advised by one of these young men that just in Shenzhen alone more sailors per month come onstream than the whole of Australia produces in a year. i have attached the link for the China Cup International regatta

The more the US tries to become isolated, the more China will try to become open.
China already issued 15 days VISA free policy for several countries, so that westerners could see the real China from more channels.
The US activity quitted to be the world leader, China must take the responsibility, at least part of it.

CEOs are no fools, neither are they so meek they abide by every whim of their governments. The meeting in Beijing is proof positive that China is no threat to America, or the likes of Cook would not have come. It's blindingly obvious that American business executives dearly wish to maintain a cordial, working relationship with China-the standing ovation they gave Xi in San Francisco proved that. The America of my youth would have faced the business competition from China with amusement rather than alarm, and responded by pushing American companies to match and exceed the new standards coming from China. Sadly, that generation of Americans never passed their strength of character to their offsprings, and so here we are, in a trade war triggered by American insecurity, indecisiveness, and incompetance.

The way for a win-win trade is trade without gunboat diplomacy. China still needs to be strong militarily and have a large sphere of political influence in other parts of the world if they want to avert being subjected to this kind of circumstance. The Wan Mengzhou case exemplifies the play of modern gunboat diplomacy in trade.
