Jesica Ahlberg, The Voice Of The People . . .- THANKS for spitting facts. This drama got to my nerves 😭😭😭

They glossed over Hye-Jun's career, all his friendships, the relationship between him and Jeong-Ha and even his military service. I knew I was going to be mad when the time skip was 10 minutes before the end of the series.
Are we to assume that when they met up again, that the timing was right and they got back together? We really got played.

The two moms were main actress in Kdramas 20~30 years ago. Shin aera and Ha heera They are still beautiful and acctactive.

Jesica also has to work in the Korean entertainment industry.

Jeong Ha was not great in the show, but I kind of understood where she was coming from with the breakup. She realized there were so many things she was sure of prior to meeting Hye Jun. After meeting and falling for him, she began to change because of him, and that feels relatable. Almost like losing yourself in a relationship.
I agree with the rest of your points though. That’s the most frustrating thing about kdramas, it feels like they just change the focus and plot line completely midway through.
And pleaseeeee keep doing these vids! I don’t know anyone in my personal life that watches kdramas as much as I do, so the internet and KRplus is the only place I can actually discuss or keep up with them 😭. Looking forward to your review of the start up!

I am not sure whether it's your taste, but I highly recommend to see"My Mister", starring IU(아이유) in 2018. You can find it in Netflix. THE BEST EVER IN KOREAN DRAMA.

My favorite drama is Hundred Million Stars in the Sky. I don't think NEARLY enough people are talking about this drama. I haven't binged an entire show in one sitting in soooooooooooooooooooo long. It stars Seo In Guk (Reply 1997) and Jung So Min (Playful Kiss). It's a Romeo/Juliet type murder mystery drama that will have you on the tip of your toes. The romance build up? *chef's kiss*. I won't spoil the ending but I'm telling you it ended the way it was supposed to end. I hope you check it out! Even those of you reading in the comments. I'm telling you as a k-drama stan for the last 12 years. It's a SOLID watch!

I just finished watching it. I thought it was cute and a good show overall. I think her reason for breaking up with him was valid though- he was too busy for her. They weren't communicating/meeting up. Her character's story, the writers failed at. They hinted at her family dynamics with her mom and father but nothing ever came of it. And you're right, a lot of things get glazed over. Like when he won the award and she was MIA. Like- did they get into a fight/address that? You make a lot of good points though! Yes, the horrible agent needed karma and we didn't get that. The two MLs though (also their acting) *chef's kiss* Also, I might start start up next too!

In fact, the actor "Park Bo-gum", who played Hye-jun, is actually humble and famous among colleagues and fans for good personality and kindness 😆 (Par Bo-gum , Park Seo-jun and Kim Tae-hyung are best friends in reality. I imagined Tae-hyung (V) appearing as a cameo too 🤣 )

Also am I the only one that kind of thought that hye-ho had no reason to like jeongha? Like there was no special moment between them for him to start liking her....he just kinda did randomly

She needed the emotional support that she never got from her parents. She sought it in her love life sub consciously. Plus her insecurities about not being good enough for him, all that played a part in her decision.

I'm just mad Hae-Hyo never confessed his feelings at least once. I mean, I knew and he knew he probably had no chance, but still😭

Yes girl! I would like to know what shows you are watching and your review on them while you are still finishing them up. I am someone who gets so focused on one drama that once I finish it idk what to watch next because I was so invested in that one show lol. I feel this drama suffered the same problem just like the Itaewon Class, the beginning and the plot were the highlights but the ending was rushed. PBG has the spotlight but the female lead was forgotten in the end. :(

Hae Hyo deserved better, that's something I constantly thought of as I watched Record of Youth.
It made me sad that Jeongha never really changed or improved and she barely acknowledged Hae Hyo either. He tried really hard only to be ignored or treated like less.

I agree. Story is all over the place, i got bored halfway. I did finish it for park bogum.
Please do one its okay not to be okay!

She decided to run away from him for his career. . .because she loves him so much. Once she thought herself as a burden to him, your favorite character the manager and media may cause. Anyway you are an angel^^*

It was because she loved him so much and people finding out the idol actor was dating her could potentially ruin his career. So she gave up her love so he could go on as an actor. It was really sad for me, actually! Hahaha! Did anyone else interpret it this way?

You should check out It's Ok to Not be Ok on Netflix. It's my favorite Kdrama of all time. I think you'll appreciate the excellent characters and their growth, the on-point acting, the fashion, and most importantly, the chemistry between the leads.

Hoping for Season 2 that will give answers to all our questions about the other characters and ofc, to your rants 😂😂

I highly recommend to watch "My mister". It's a great drama with an incredible plot and amazing cast as well💕

I’ve just started watching kdramas too after I became obsessed with kpop. My very first kdrama was “its ok to not be ok” it had me in laughter and tears in equal measure it was so so good.

Well we Korean folks do sometimes try not to let mistakes in relationships bother us so much. That is not a big deal to most Koreans as you watch the movies and shows you can pick up on these things somewhat. Suffering etc. and not needing to get into it or fleshing it out is part of being a Korean just accepting :) I don't know if that makes any sense to you :) LOL :)

I love your fair evaluation of the drama.
I think the writer wanted to make a drama that pinched the reality of the Korean entertainment industry, not a beautiful love story.
Wouldn't the writer want to say to many young people who are having a hard time living and who are poor,
'Success as an entertainer is not an unachievable dream' or 'Don't give up in advance?'
It's just my opinion. ^^

I recommend this beautiful drama, "Do you like Brahms?". The drama aired almost the same time as Record of Youth. You won't regret watching it. ❣

I think this drama could have been better if it were filmed after or before this pandemic.

I recommend 'Extraordinary You' if you like high-pitched highteen k-drama!
And 'K2' I think you would really love this stroyline if you loved Hotel Deluna~!

I started watching this drama when it first started airing but after few episodes I got bored and I wasn't sure where is the plot going. It is on hold for me for now.

Am i the only one who skips some scene because it just doesn’t give me it (that’s when i know I’m not a fan of the story). Like the first few episodes was good until it just focuses on one’s pov. Still salty about the lack of exposure of jeongha 🥺

You are so right... After the rain scene, it slowly went downhill from there. I can't help but feel like it could have been waaaaaaaaay better than the way they played it. I didn't even feel that he was in a military service. It was like they ran out of time and just finish the series. The ending was not satisfying at all... It's so sad because i loove PBG.

AGREED I just thought she didn’t want his dream to squash hers...... but what about Love??? He was so thoughtful♥️... I’m sure they could have worked it out without such drastic measures. It was frustrating and the end....well I’m going to believe that the timing was back on for them..... but I wasn’t convinced.... they needed to convince me more....
