I think a lot of it has to do with marketing and what radio station plays your music. Artist such as Adele & Sam Smith can make all the RnB they want and get played on top 40 pop stations and adult contemporary stations also. I don't think theres much of a comparison due to Jhene's singing style.
That's true, their singing styles are very different. I just meant that both artists have so much emotion in their voices and lyrics. I'm sure there are others who compare but they're the main ones I listen to because I mostly prefer rap. I also agree with you about how the radio stations, it's unfortunate certain artists don't get put on the main top 40 radio when they should, whereas others get the spots.
