- Ha-Seong Kim 김하성 hits an RBI double off of the Dodgers pitcher alamonte to drive in the first run in the bottom of the 7th inning at Petco park in San Diego. This is Kim’s first post season in the US MLB.

As a Dodgers fan, still salty and butthurt about losing to you guys.
But as Korean-American, I like to support Korean players for their success in the MLB and to hopefully have more Koreans in MLB. My dad became a Padres fan. He and I were rooting against each other.
I have to admit that despite Koreans playing in MLB in the past, i never seen anything like this. Ha Seong Kim is getting more support and has stronger fan favorite fanbase than Chan Ho Park, Hyun Jin Ryu, Shin Soo Choo ever got with their teams.
My dad left the Dodgers fanbase after Dodgers screwed up 2019 because of Dave Roberts, ruining Buehler and Ryu's prime years, and then when Ryu left to Blue Jays, he stopped following the Dodgers. Then Kim came in 2021 and my dad decided to follow the Padres and he is impressed how Padres have supported him and believed in him despite having 200 batting average. Ryu was pitching like an ace, started an all star game in 2019, and even then he never got this much level of support from the Dodgers than Kim is getting from the Padres. This is what made my dad follow and became a Padres fan.
As painful it is to me for me to buy a Padres jersey, if Padres win the World Series, im gonna owe my dad Ha Seong Kim's authentic jersey that says World Series champs. 🤣 Gonna hurt for me to buy Padres jersey. Dodgers fan buying Padres jersey.😔

Im Korean American, but I love Shohei Ohtani along with many Japanese players such as Yu Darvish, Masahiro Tanaka, Hideo Nomo, Ichiro Suzuki. Hideki Matsui, even other short term players such as Kazuhisa Ishii and Daisuke Matsuzaka.

It was a soft hit, but so was Freeman’s 2 rbi hit down the 1st base line. That’s how it goes sometimes.
