The chemistry between Joel and Joel is so real
I'm so glad the two characters Joel wrote and acted as found each other
Seriously Joel and Joel need to work together more
I was literally about to say the same thing 😂
If I was a middle school girl, I would say their ship name would be joel
This is so damn good I feel genuinely happy for him
If your bro doesn't say "I love you, bye" then they're not your true bro.
But did he kiss the homies goodnight?
What a king
This is actually written in the 10 commands
I say I love you bye to all my friends
damn it.
He took a two and a half hour shit. What a legend.
Ah! A person of culture that caught the time on phone as well.
I’m amazed he could walk out on his own after that.
Im so tired, I missed this glorious detail. I went back to the owen wilson frame and honked loudly
LOL I didn't notice, that's amazing
Fucking speed -runners- shitters.
Fun fact after the filming of this scene these two actors actually started a real relationship and are going to get married after the pandemic
That night, they became one~
You could almost say they're inseparable.
They will be waiting till 2050
AAAAHHHAHAHA effing dead
I wonder which one their kids will look like
I actually cried when woman Joel said "it's been a long time since someone's told me something that mattered"
me too! was not expecting that
The whole joke was that it didn't matter in the slightest. You cried at the punchline lol.
@@neuronaut8030 yeah, that's true comedy
@@neuronaut8030 The point wasn't that the story mattered, but that he told her something that mattered to him
@@neuronaut8030 dude... we understand the joke but the line is still sad when related to real life context.
Imagine getting choked up on a romance of a guy dating himself, only with a wig
Couldn't be me, nope, not at all. T_T
acting at its finest
i was shipping them so hard! more after their disappointments in previous videos...my new head canon is steven and beth are real not joel
It's me.
That was one hell of a wake up call...
This is the power of art.
This guy has a more impactful date with himself then I can have with any guy or girl
That comment just made me sad. Cuz same for me.

What a beautiful yet simple trilogy.
A sad reminder of how superficial dating culture can be if you aren't careful, weirdly relatable
Can you explain it to me? I'm 16 and I've never dated anyone, I didn't really understand this video...
@@emmak2971 My personal takeaway was that the guy and girl were willing to be vulnerable with each other on their first date. That's a pretty rare thing- most people are guarded and distrustful because they've been hurt before. They made a real connection because they were brave enough to be real with each other.
@@Jedislayer19 Well said :)
@@Jedislayer19 Thank you for explaining it to me ^-^ I really appreciate it.
@@Jedislayer19 I really appreciate this explanation, and it might even change how I act in the future
Your time has come. You are about to blow up. This is exactly what the internet needs right now. Keep it up
It’s like classic youtube with modern internet sensibilities

Yeah brace for impact buddy. Your channel is gold.

Their children are going to look amazing.
Theyre literally going to look exactly like their parents

LOL “I googled something that didn’t even matter” *googles owen wilson*. I laughed so hard i damn near woke my girlfriend from upstairs.
well who googled "who voiced the main car" from cars. The kachow guy. Which is Owen Wilson..
Wow.
Weird.i googled him last night.
Even better, it was 9:32 hahaha
so relatable i'm always googling the most random things at the toilet, i even learned water wasn't really wet
I love the characterization, she's so insecure, like the way she acts random to impress him, the "really? really? like, really?" = her constantly asking for validation, the way she repeatedly says she'd never lie, unlike the guy who she last dated.. etc,,
it's just so real
Very aware
lol oh you sweeet summer child
That was a really good catch. Man there’s so much more going on to these videos than what’s on the surface
she's literally just me and it hurts being characterized so easily
@@pooscifer 😭
this is unironically sort of moving. they're both clearly huge weirdos and keep apologising after everything because in life you simply can't be yourself when meeting new people (especially if you're weird) and yet it works, it's a nice, heartwarming message
Maybe not huge weirdos, but rather just shy and experiencing the awkwardness of trying to relate with somebody you've never met before
The "Bro" sneaking in a really fast "Love you" at the end of that first phone call was hilarious
i dont hear the bro tho
that was so cute >
Steve: "I, uh... hope tap water's okay."
Beth: "Oh, no no, i-it's perfect! I'm a little slut for tap water."
Steve: *spit takes*

Steve: "What?!"
Beth: "No filter, I guess!"
"No filter"! Fucking brilliant! >xD

He plays such a convincing woman that when it cut to the shot of both of them at the table I didn’t even realize I was looking at two of the same people for a second
In the “Girls” dating video the girl’s date dodges telling the story behind the Happy New Year hat... this is such a weirdly satisfying payoff
I don't usually cry when watching pretty much anything but this time I did. I had a girl open up like this to me and we liked each other as human beings before anything else. She left me 4 days ago because she couldn't handle the physical distance between us, a distance I was willing to fill. This video really brought up emotions I was trying to hide from myself that I shouldn't hide. Only if I go through them I can heal. Thanks Joel, and Merry Christmas for tomorrow!
I'm sorry to hear that, distance can be tough and so can breakups, it's a lose-lose situation and I've been there before. I wish you a healthy emotional recovery and thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas!
You sound young. First heartbreaks can be so brutal. But don't worry. This will not be the last time someone opens up to you like that. Take heart
Sounds like this video truly did a solid for you. I can relate as well buddy, I had a long distance relationship once too and it was broken off for the same reason. I am sorry man, but if my experience can tell you anything, it will get better!
Distance is possible. Make it work. Call often and casually
Distance helped along the breakup of two of my past relationships too, one that I don’t think I’ll ever stop having at least a small pang in my heart when I think of it, and prevented some from ever starting. It’s a hard thing to get past. I;d say there are other fish and all those cliches, but it’s been most of a decade since I’ve been able to date (my health is bad and apparently a non-starter the times I’ve tried). I’ll just say, learn to be happy with yourself. People come and go, but you can’t leave yourself. So make yourself someone you enjoy spending time with. Explore things you love, always be open to learning new subjects and hobbies, have "date" nights in with yourself, live as much as possible in a way you can at least be content with yourself. And learn to love friends too. There are so many different types of love in life, different types of intimacy, romantic love is not the only one. I hope you find someone again. But I also hope for your happiness with or without.
i'm sorry, i thought this was a comedy channel. I never asked for you to come for my feelings like that. made me tear up ya bastad.
Me too!!
The acting is so good, when I first saw it I didn't even think about the fact that he had go through all the trouble of acting with his imaginary self and timing everything, especially in the wide shot.
Extremely moving, great cinema.
Yes, it's just lovely. When you forget something is an act, it is very well made.
"I'm a slut for tap water"
"Sorry no filter I guess"
High comedy right there
The time on the phone being 9:32 is so good
LMFAOOO I DIDNT NOTICE THAT it would’ve been equally funny if he had changed his clock or waited till midnight to shoot that part
Sat on the toilet for nearly 3 hours poor man
a beautiful end to the trilogy!

Why do I believe in love again
Now I just really wanna see this relationship blossom I don't care if it's between a man and his clone in a wig this somehow felt super fucking real despite also being super goofy
This was great! Wasnt so much a punchline as it was a story i loved it. Lol whats ur greatest disappointment is now my question for meeting anyone new

Who hasn't lost three hours googling Owen Wilson?
That no filter on the tap water joke was brilliant xD
I've always wanted to know "Who voiced the main car" thanks google
Guy Joel's friend is so incompetent yet deeply supportive.
The level of in depth acting. Bruh making this for a few k viewers is insane
The more things change the more they stay the same eh
This is strangely wholesome.
4:25 "told me something that mattered" - proceeds to stare into your soul fully liquidating the 4th wall with her/his tears
You made a better love story in 5 minutes than Hollywood can do in 90. 10/10.

This is one of the most fluid self conversations I've ever seen. Literally some of the best acting on the planet
Literally no one has disliked this, this speaks levels to how good your content is

Nah
I love how the clock said 9:00 when he was googling owen wilson meaning he was on the toilet for almost 3 hours
Came for the utterly desiccated humor, stayed for the feels, you made me cry bro
This deserves to be feature length
This ending was beautiful. Even stoned, it had me crying

Holy hell. I thought this was gonna be another parody like the first two dating videos....but god...only when the music kicked in did I understand the meaning of the title. ‘The end of dating,’ because they’ll be together. Holy shit. Even the woman’s reaction to the story had me caught up in the moment. You are a cinematic genius. That made me feel 10x more emotions and relatability than every romantic comedy I’ve seen combined. Good fucking job, dude. Good fucking job.
This wasn't quite as funny as some of your other stuff, but it actually kind of hit me in the feels. You got talent my dude.
What are you saying, this is hilarious!!
That "It's been a long time since someone's told me something that mattered" hit me like a truck. Such a beautiful trilogy. Just art in its purest form.

Joel and Joel went on one date, technically. 1 date per joel, or 1 dpj
The way you interacted with yourself at the end was fucking amazing, imagine having that level of timing and awareness
Sometimes I find myself at a spot where nothing comes through to me. I normally find something on KRplus, but sometimes none of the channels I like make me feel alive. Like there's something wrong with everything. I think it's mental, nevermind that.
The point is, it was at this point that I came to this channel. It started with the RPG trilogy, right now it's here. And at this moment in time, this filmmaker comes through to me and makes me feel okay about life. Unexpectedly, vulnerably, subtly.
Thank you Joel
Seriously, right? I started 2 months ago and was the "Scooby Doo, but then this happens."
Last year just had a heavy shit feeling to it. Then, Joel pops into my recommended (mind you, he had been in there for probably 2 weeks as the scooby video) I finally just clicked it and whoa. Dudes been grinding for 8 yrs at less that 3k subs and puts out videos, nay, short awesome films every week.
He made me feel like "if he can live, have fun, and do it for crumbs and keep smiling, I can as well"
I loved the reaction to her joke. That felt very real.. how does he hve chemistry with himself?
I like how he still had time for the countdown
Still makes me cry years later, this series is how I found you, and its impact hasn’t lessened in the slightest. Thank you Joel.
the "no filter" on the tap water statement was golden
Owen Wilson. Owen F*cking Wilson. I'm, uh, actually kind of at a loss for words atm. He actually missed that because... holy shit, getting worked up just thinking about it. I sincerely - with ALL the conviction of my spirit - hope that you've learned from your mistake.
Just....wow
this guy is seriously an amazing actor and writer. the way he can create the feeling of two people in a room, with only one person, is amazing
Props to you for that shot at the end... Seems like it'd be especially hard to line up dialogue responses without being able to cut back and forth
"who voiced the main car" LMAO
I feel like an alien when I watch these videos. I feel so uncomfortable and so out of place. I have no idea what is being said or what is happening and yet I just keep watching. That's genius
The ultimate trilogy
Didn't expect this to become a trilogy!
that line hits me so damn hard and it genuinely hurts so much, "it's been a long time since someone told me something that mattered". I've had so many funny nights with friends but nothing as in actual meaningful conversations, just distractions from the life I'm living and the things that bring it down. well thank you for giving me the courage to actually wanna have a meaningful conversation with a friend. enjoy the short films you make, keep up the amazing work
I’ve just randomly watched a trilogy in order!!

Wow. honestly. you did an amazing job editing you into the video twice at the same time at the end. it looked so real that i forgot you were playing both characters. great work
