His performances in joel and cherdley and spence videos has lead me to firmly believe his YT personality is not 100% real. This isnt a negative thing, people have speculated whether hes a just a nice dude trying his best or a comedic genius for years. The Deion's Dungeon saga absolutely sealed it for me that Dax is aware of his awkwardness and uses it in the best ways to make us all laugh. Love seeing him in parts like this as you said, he kills it in these videos! Sorry for the rant!

This plot works so much in the movies because no sane person would ever do this in real life. No one ever stops to think “wait a minute, am I being hoodwinked by an overly-complicated series of homemade contraptions and doodads?” because people just don’t do that

I want the inverse of this lol. There’s just the one person in the house and everyone else (parents, siblings, even the pet) have set up contraptions to make it seem like they’re in bed when everyone else is really just snuck out to go do stuff
That's a pretty darn good spin on it! A video with that premise could have shown up on this channel and fit in naturally with all the other Joel stuff, Mx. Similar-to-Joeltype-Scenario-Creatin' Random-Person. 🙂

daxflame is beyond perfect for your style of humour. mainly because he is a good mix between andy kaufman and the cousin who shuffles a deck of cards at the family reunion to calm down.

Dax is soooo funny in Joel's sketches. He doesn't seem like he's acting. Like everyone else is funny but no one seems to be able to capture that very natural feel Dax gets
His acting is so perfectly awkward and natural that it's easier to believe he isn't acting at all and this sketch is real.

The beauty of this video is that Dax is doing something ridiculous, Joel's pointing out how it's obviously ridiculous (reflecting the audience's awareness of the situation), and then Dax is giving answers so honestly and straightforward that I end up agreeing with each of his points and responses.
He could've just studied and then went to the party! He's an adult!

You never have enough time to sleep during highschool, but you don't want to worry your parents either.

Not even gonna lie, I'd watch a sitcom of this. Like a fully funded, professionally shot sitcom of this, with one sensible brother that's always looking out for his extremely random brother who always comes up with extremely intricate plots for mundane situations.
"You became the mayor of our town just so you could impress your girlfriend's parents?!"
"Y-yeah?"
"You've only been dating for 2 weeks!"
YES I need this now.. could even have the random brother still adhere to sitcom rules and have a situation like..
Sane Brother: "You rebuilt the antique vase you broke via learning ancient pottery making skills from a book that isn't in our native tongue.. the language is long dead and you learned that also... all this because you didn't wanna come clean?"
Quirky Brother: 'Yeah, why wouldn't I?'
*few episodes later*
Sane: "Hey found another book in that dead language you learned"
Quirky: 'What? I don't know how to read that, we gotta go on an adventure to find an ancient lady in another country that will explain to us.. all before dinner time'
Sane: "You didn't do that the first time.. you just.. looked on Google somehow"
Quirky: 'It doesn't exist on the internet it is only word of mouth..'

dax really is just the perfect character for joel haver skits. It's almost like it was meant to happen.

What started as a parody of that one scene in movies so quickly became a commentary on the lengths students will go to to avoid doing the studying needed to succeed even if what they're doing to avoid studying ends up being even more costly and time-consuming than just going ahead and studying.
Well, studying isn't fun. It's like the opposite of fun in fact.

Makes me wonder how you plan what outfits your characters should wear. I can't imagine you just wear whatever random clothes you have hanging in your closet. I would actually like to see a vid of you explaining your thought process that goes behind your wardrobe choices. Actually, thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if you just have a natural talent for just pulling out something random that just ends up being exactly needed for your skits.

- Watch a movie

It's crazy how great Dax is in EVERY ones content. His gets a little off the rails, but when he is in others, he is pretty much making it. Very crazy concept.
Dax is a good actor. Not great on the content creation though. He’s got big hits and misses there.
I love the meta aspect that this could’ve potentially been a deleted scene from the movie project x (that Dax was in) Involving how he managed to sneak out that night to make it to the party.
