Clay is so right about Hobi's dancing style. It just seems so fluid and smooth and whatever he does, even if he is just vibing, just feels so right. There is something about Hoseok that is just different from all existing dancers.

Hobi brings on the energy, JK brings on the solidity, and Jimin brings on the drama. Hobi is creative, JK is on point and Jimin is captivating. These trio are beyond compare rather they compliment each other. Hence, the BTS!

As a dancer myself, I LOVE Jimin. I’ve learned so much from him! He pours everything he has in his craft. He’s just inSANLY talented! His dancing is another level. That man is honestly the best dancer I’ve ever seen and he’s easily, one of, if not THEE best dancer in the industry. He’s a very versatile dancer. He was known as the dark horse of modern dance and golden swan of contemporary. From hiphop, locking-popping, contemporary, ballet, traditional and modern, his dance genre knowns no boundaries. He’s truly a dance PRODIGY. He combines his mastery of dance with K-pop sensibilities to unlock new possibilities. He’s an idol with overflowing charms and a performing artist not confined to any genre on stage but instead uses his body to express his inner self. He’s such a rare dancer/performer. I admire him very much!!
Totally agree with you he is the best in all the industry way beyond kpophe is MJ and prince wrap in the same body, he kept so much of his contemporary skills after years of kpop training he si smooth, strong, powerful, everything seems easy bigger, cleaner on his body, never saw it no where and you know I saw Nureyev dancing, and what I think for real is that they have the same kind of aura, because this is what makes the difference between JM and hope which is an incredible dancer, beautifully clean, wonderful, but Jimin has that diva presence nobody else got.

Jimin has perfect flow, strength, power, and very smooth with every move he makes. He has a natural rhythm and the ability to understand choreo well. He’s just a perfect combination of technique, expression, interpretation, intensity, like he’s the full package.
I’m a huge Michael Jackson and Prince fan so could be a reason why I was drawn to Jimin the most. Bc Jimin give’s me MJ vibes for his stage presence & immaculate dancing, and Prince for his androgynous features & sex appeal.

My two favorite dancers are J-Hope and Jimin. J-Hope because he’s technically perfect, quick learner, best hip hop dancer, and Jimin because of his unique dance style which can’t be replicated and his stage and camera presence…he has the “IT” factor. 🫰🏻💜

yes! he killed it as he often (always?) does... he is so captivating and let's be a little bit freer with the guys' bodies, no need to make such eyes for a little nip, especially when it is beautiful , so beautiful
What Clay pointed out in j-hope's dancing is exactly what differentiates and elevates his dancing to a higher artistic plane - j-hope's ability to meld absolutely precise dance technique, seamless physical coordination, engaged control & release, and in-the-moment connectivity to the emotional core & structure fo whatever song he's dancing to. Not to claim that the others do not posses such skills, but j-hope's relentless consistency in placement of his feet/knees/pelvis/shoulders/head, functional turnout, impressive extension & line, pinpoint transitions, and ability to switch up beats & cadences in seconds is why he stands out. You can stop a rehearsal or performance choreography video at at any point (like Clay did) and revel in j-hope's dance textbook perfect placement and form.
Too many people claim to be dancers then blather on about useless things, I get so happy when I see real dancers like you in the comments! thank you for sharing your insights!

Hobi was a street dancer before he was even a trainee, and he was amazing so he's been doing this for years and years
He won national championships.
nobody can make their clothes and hair dance like jimin...like he really knows how to incorporate everything into this art that nobody NOBODY can duplicate. there is only one other person that has made me feel even a little bit of what jimin can do and that is sean lew who I knew about way before jimin since he was just a young kid....like jimin is just something else. I'm glad I got to witness first hand what he can do. the greatest artists that you have read about in the past ...jimin is ours.
LITERALLY the best thing the universe could gift us is a collaboration between Jimin And Sean. I don't know if we deserve it, though... pretty sure there would be spontaneous eruptions of previously undiscovered gasses and the world would implode... or get vacuumed into a black hole...

He's the JIMIN of OUR TIME. He's not just the KING OF KPOP, he's becoming the KING OF POP for this era. Ppl try box him in to categories that make them feel comfortable, so they don't get their mainstream artists feeling threatened, but it can't be stopped. As much as they've tried to keep BTS back by not awarding them the accolades they deserve, none of them can be denied as the legends they already are, and the icons they are becoming. With JIMIN the most ICONIC of all. "Mainstream" artists will feel the heat and the need to do better, when JM's first solo album drops later this year. He's already shown what he can do to the charts with B-side tracks on a group album, imagine the fires he'll light under the industry's a$$€$ with a whole album where he gets to say and do, wear and present himself however he wants. Hobi is already showing us there'll be no holds barred. This second part of the year is settling out to be one for the books honestly.
Sorry for the long comment. Great entertainers get me very excited, because I've been talking about this for years, and I knew they'd get here, all the ay back in 2013 when they were unknown babies in kpop. Started from the bottom, now we HERE, man.

The difference between a good dancer and a great one is that a great one makes it look completley natural and deceptively "easy" and effortless. j-hope is such a dancer. He doesn't just dance or perform when he dances, he thinks in dance too.
That is not true at all. Some great dancers make dances look difficult it just depends on style. He also disagrees with you at 14:43. But sure jhope is a great dancer.
@@tfrancesz sorry but I have to disagree with you. Truly great dancers never make dances look hard, even when the choreo is. Eg Fred Astaire. There isn't a single dance he did where he looks like he is struggling or it is hard. He made some the hardest choreo look like it was easy for him to do some to such a degree that watching him can make you feel like you can do it until you try and realise just how hard those choreos were. If you've seen "great dancers" making choreo look hard, then either they aren't great or they having an off day.

I think I understand what the OO means here though...? I think they mean even if a move is technically not super-hard, a good dancer can make it look very impressive due to pinpoint execution & energy. It's like the move Jordan was asking about with the leg kick - even though the move is only intermediate difficulty, it LOOKS fancy because of how intensely the guys are going for it.
Loved this! I really like the different dancing styles in BTS, as a non-fan & non-dancer Jimin captured my eye idk why, but I’m glad to hear your appreciation of Hobi’s style. Now that I’m into BTS more I’ll try to look out for him now.
my opnion as someone that has been a dance lover for the last 50 years is that JImin is the best dancer I have ever seen , and I saw Nureyev dancing, JImin has the same kind of aura (nothing to do with hte kind of moves , but the presence, that thing that touchs you, that makes you only see him on stage, follow him when he is in the back and he is singing the way he sings at the same time, and he is always having a more complicated choreography cause he makes more displacements and he is the faster and lighter (with hope)

"on" is my favorite bts choreography after choreographies like "black swan" and "idol". it's an amazing and super powerful dance but i think what adds more power is the way bts execute it, in my opinion i feel like "on" It's a choreography that few people can cover and pull it off with the same level of passion that bts puts into it, to me they're one of the best performers ever! BTW, great video!!!
Just imagine dancing that intently in the hot sun for hours. Everyone must have been totally exhausted. You guys are right. Jimin is a great dancer but nobody is like J-Hope. He flows and makes it all look so easy. You can tell he's had training and been doing this a long time. A true professional. This is the only K-Pop group with so many truly talented guys in it. JK's and Jimin's singing, Jimin and J-Hope dancing, Suga's producing, Jin and RM's maturity, V's singing and visuals. A complete package. BigHit knew how to pick the best ones and it sure paid off.

I’m a huge Jimin afficionado myself. Jimin biased ARMYs, there’s a dancer reactor who describes Jimin’s genius artistry when he danced to Lie, the one where he competes with Taemin, contrasting Jimin’s artistic choices to those of the backup dancers. I don’t have the link but it was very informative about Jimin’s amazing precision, elegant skill, and artistry.

He never said that Jimin was bad though? How come if one member gets praised, people think it means all the other members doing a worse job. He even explained he likes J-Hope because he dances like him, he does popping so of course you favor the member that resembles your passion.
The "maybe he is not your cup of tea" is unnecessary because he literally said what his cup of tea is, there is no maybe.
Both J-Hope and Jimin are Main dancers with completely different styles and it's up to preferences who thinks is the best (and being the second best is still not a shame).
But let's be real, even Jimin showed in an interview that Hobi is the best dancer and he is dance leader for a reason as well.
If one member, doesn't matter which one, gets praised, let them get praised without dragging others into it

And if course Jimin is a great performer, he is amazing in what he does and nobody questions it. But honestly, how Hobi gets one compliment and the section is full of Jimin-stans, it is sad.
Because let's be real, HipHop was always looked down as people looked down on street dancers while things like ballett and contemporary dance was seen higher even though both styles are extremly hard to master.
All 3 Js bring a different style of dance and complimenting one member doesn't erase the talent of the others, there is no reason to always mention everyone if talking about one member, that goes for every member. I can compliment RM Rap without mentioning Suga and I can compliment Jin without mentioning JKs voice.
Imagine someone gives a compliment to Jimin and everyone would dismiss it and say Hobi is better, it's also wrong and it would bother you as well. Both are amazing and it's ok to prefer one over the other AS LONG as people are allowed to have other opinions

I just do not know why but I could feel a surge of pride arising within my body and sending chills deep down when they praised them for everything they did to make ON a state of the art music video. Of course, not forgetting about J-Hope's stupendous dancing skills, he indeed is the best dancer in the entire universe. Though Hobi's dance became the center of attention yet the other members along with the background dancers left no stone unturned in making this Kinetic Manifesto Film...... Massive.

Hobi is an amazing street/hip hop dancer…possibly the best in the world of his genre of dance; but in an ocean of dancers, nobody dances like Jimin! With his dance skills in every genre there is, his flexibility and incorporated martial arts expertise, he’s created HIS OWN dance genre! No one in BTS has the versatility that Jimin has; that is why, in my opinion, he is the best dancer in BTS and one of the best dancers in the world!

Also J-Hope actually helps the other members perfect their moves when they practice, and when they are practicing in studio or on stage if they mess up a move the first person they'll look at is J-Hope because they know he'll end up saying something to them and make sure that they get it done correctly the next time so when they practice they all make sure to have J-Hope with them so they can correct whatever needs to be fixed. 😁

Stezzy spitting facts. I love all of the boys' dancing. They all have their own flair. But when I want to see how a move is supposed to look at it's most perfect, I watch j-hope. And there are so many instances in any choreography where you pause it and his lines will be the best. Or his extension or his jump or his feet placement...he just executes at such a high level and no one would even attempt to argue that his delivery was sacrificed for that perfection either. He's still the most expressive, swaggiest, sincere dancer out there on top of his technical. He's a prodigy.
I've just commented you comment on other video... Again, yes!!! Super agree. Haha I love to learn BTS choreographs and I'm not a real dancer, so I see each detail to learn it right and was exactly while I was learning this choreo, on a part of the video that was focused on JK so I had to see his moves to learn this part, but it was difficult, because his moves wasn't clean, so I found the make off video and we can see all of them, so when I could see that part by watching j-hope it was so easy to learn. That day was even more clear to me how perfect J-Hope's dance is. He can do the most difficult dance moves without much effort and perfectly.

Oh my god, the collab I never knew I needed! Love the whole Steezy squad, they're adorbale human beings. Loved to see how both perspectives (editor+dancer) worked togehter and how important each role is for creating a artistic piece like an MV. Esp. the part you both pointed out about the 3 chest pops, that the mv editor made hit harder due to the zooms.
