- Today we’re back at Universal Studios Hollywood to check out the latest updates inside the theme park! A new cafe has come to town- Power Up Cafe is the latest addition to the “New York” section of the theme park. The cafe brings new drink and snack offerings to the park, and makes a great spot to relax as you enjoy them! The Fast and Furious Rollercoaster is coming very soon to the park. Recently, coaster footers have been spotted on the construction site.

Wow! Power Up Cafe opened up out of nowhere! But kinda weird how they have a Mario themed restaurant outside of Super Nintendo World.
Oh, and all the metal you see around the station area is called "falsework." It's a temporary structure used to hold up the concrete formwork until the concrete hardens. You'll see the same method used for freeway bridges and overpasses under construction.
I knew the upper lot was something Super Mario related. I’m excited to try the new menu items on my next trip. New Super Mario food is what I’ve been hoping for.

I really hope for Halloween Horror Nights. This year we get the back lot back or at least new locations with more space because the last couple years the crowd control has been awful

I feel like they should have at least 1 or 2 Mario mascots outside the cafe to greet guests and to attract the crowds.
I propose Yoshi and Daisy since Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad are already in Super Nintendo World.
That would be great to have! Maybe a yoshi meet in that location

Hi JP. I asked one of the studio tour members a week ago and they said Earthquake is undergoing a major refurb and will open during late march.
It’s been closed for a year now! excited to see it return

The small boxes could potentially be electrical work for the coaster? The one near the water pipes is kind of where the mid course brake run will go. Maybe that could be where the train starts to spin?
i think they’re going to be using the power supply that already exists

Not really. The Toadstool cafe has always been very difficult to get reservations ever since SNW opened and there’s no other Mario themed food in the upper lot at all. Also, the official opening for the Power Up Cafe on Feb 15 is very close to the official opening of SNW so that could also help commemorate its 1st anniversary. So this has been a long time coming.

i think the plaza can be used for an expansion of dreamworks, kung fu panda is great, but itd be cool to get a comeback of shrek 4d, and some representation of other dw franchises

Yes, but this is a soft opening as the restaurant in the Upper Lot will officially open on February 15.

Universal studios hollywood could still expand, like iif they got rid of the mummy ride and the 4 sound stages next to transformers they could build a land and a couple of attractions there
Also they could put donkeykong behind Nintendo world kf they ever do a expansion for Nintendo world
Just get rid of the transformers and the mummy rides. Just leave Super Nintendo World and Jurassic World in the lower lot.

I’m totally ok with them removing transformers and the mummy ride for Donkey Kong and possibly the Legend of Zelda land expansions.

@@JPland21 not when that location has been used for alcohol. If rides are put there then no revenue for alcohol and rides can't be moved for houses

I kinda want then to get rid of war of the worlds. The movie was kinda mid to be honest.
They should get rid of nope and supercharged. Not only are the sets on nope relocated, it’s kinda boring. Supercharged is just terrible lol. Worlds is at least really cool
Then where is Grinchmas going to go and the Halloween bar it's fine as an open space it's not Disney stop suggesting that
Events can always be relocated, Grinchmas has been relocated several times. it used to be near curious george, then it moved to the wild west show, and now in the plaza.
