Both of them kept all the sad feelings that they felt. When you're having a long-distance relationship, for me there are 3 words that you need to hold on to during that stage. UNDERSTAND, LOYALTY, and TRUST. Understand, because you'll be needing very long patience. Loyalty, even though you are very far from each other, knowing that she/he loves you and the loyalty is there there's nothing to worry about. And Trust, gaining trust is the hardest thing in a relationship if someone between them broke it. Knowing that all of the ”what if's” comes to their mind again, can be a reason for losing someone's trust. That's why do not forget to UNDERSTAND, be LOYAL, TRUST the process, and hold on to your LOVE for each other.

He let go because she wanted a break up and cried saying she was having a hard time. Then again, she was also selfish for wanting to break up on her own without even considering his feelings as well. A relationship is 2-way, if she was having a hard time, she shouldn't have lied saying she was fine as well, she could have told him when he asked if everything was fine.

It is strange that she doesn't feel the least bit apologetic to him at all, but instead made it all about his fault for not holding on, while he keeps blaming himself.
