This is one of the MOST UNDERRATED halftime shows.. He is one of the few male artist who can actually dance, his vocals are great and even if you don’t know his songs they are super catchy and put you on a good mood. Loved his performance. Plus he has been on 3 superbowls already that must tell you something

Gotta disagree w/ the critics, this performance is still one of the top performances of the past 20 years. His set pieces & LIVE performance abilities are elite, he actually sang his songs, engaged w/ the crowd, danced, played the piano & lit up the whole city. Also the tribute to Prince was solid. What more could you want?

I also think that from the stadium's point of view it was even better, whereas in the TV broadcast it wasn't as easy understand the full scope of the performance. Even then, this is still one of the more impressive Halftime shows.

As a Minnesota girl the Prince tribute brought tears to my eyes. He died less then a year before this. Seeing the city light up in purple as it had been after gave my goosebumps. By far the most underrated performance for a superbowl. How many artist utilize the whole stadium and then go up into the stands?
Sadly the entire city in purple was only editing but it was still a phenomenal tribute and show regardless

Either way, my favorite HT show ever. Period. The work he, and his team, put in….man. He wasn’t just the Super Bowl HT show; That was a kick*** Justin Timberlake show, but enjoy a football game while you’re here 😂
I usually cringe when people call out ‘the haters’ before anything has even happened. But his show was so unique, classy, and unforgettable, that I was happy he made the statement upfront. He knew his show was going down in the history books, and that confidence upfront speaks volumes on the work they did leading up to that night. Not a single dull moment, nor a song(s) that half of the audience didn’t know. 10/10
His band sounds so on point. crazy the amount of talent and also how bad ass it sounds with actual instruments.

The amount of live singing he does here is quite impressive. I know he's done tons of big shows (another halftime to boot) but being that vulnerable to a mess up shows just how confident this man is in a live setting.
Along with the choregraph and the subtle mic flip he did at 5:45, this is seriously one of the best showcase of talent that I've seen in a real long time. Are there better singers out there? Sure. Better dancers? Of course. But when it comes right down to it, Justin Timberlake is one of, if not THE most, entertaining and talented artist we have today. Such a showman and a master at his craft!

The mic flip is actually his nervous tick. He said it in an interview with Jimmy Fallon. He does it in every performance. Kind of humbling to know someone so good at so many things still gets nervous
Justin Timberlake was in NSYNC and they were known for singing live while doing pretty involved dance routines. He's literally spent his whole career performing this way and he was always a bit of a perfectionist. I wouldn't expect anything less from him.

I come here every year after watching the halftime show. This is still my favorite presentation. The performance, the songs, the dancing, this tribute and not necessarily has to be half naked to show his talent. He interacts a lot with the public and totally puts his heart in this. Congrats Justin!

But if we look at it just want to be nostalgic I guess you would think it was great... But if you are a singer/performer you would not espire to this at all. the dre performance was good because it was simple and to the point also rappers don't dance so there's that... Justin at this point clearly couldn't sing and dance coz he didn't have the stamina but he did too much and his stage director needed to edit edit edit . It's bad, really bad for his level. But his fans liked it that all that counts

This halftime show has honestly aged really really well when you look back at the original response. So many stages and set pieces. Audio team let Justin and the band down but you can’t find fault in anything else.

I don't know why anyone thought this was bad. There were so many cool visuals like the lighting in the beginning. DOES ANYONE NOTICE THE INSANE LIGHTS IN THE BEGINNING? He got his fans involved, his dancing was awsome, he used up the field in a unique and spectacular way, the Prince tribute was kind of filthy, but just ignore that part, and the selfie kid is just the icing on the cake. This performance will always be one of the best halftime shows of all time. 11/10

For single solo man artist. JT is number one,then Usher and Bruno Mars. As a group Cold Play did phenomenal adding Beyonce and Bruno Mars. Beyonce is number one for performing solo for the HT Super Bowl and loved JLo and Shakira's HF show.

It's not bad, but it's not in the top 10. I think people hope for a little N'Sync reunion, similar to Beyonce half-time show, or that he'd bring out Janet Jackson as sort of an apology for messing up her half-time show. I loved the Prince part, but it all felt like it could've been bigger in some ways.

The energy that Justin brings to his performances is just special. One of the very few artists that can carry a halftime show on his own. This man has a gift. Give him some credit this performance was flawless!

Bruh, I remember everybody did not like this performance. This is my first time watching this, and I can only think, "why was this so hated??" I think JT did a great job.

You can feel the energy in that crowd. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of going to two of his concerts and this man is beyond talented. He’s got everything. Aside from Bruno in 2014, this is the best halftime show in recent years. 💯
