Purpose was basically a redemption album, to tell people that he's not what media portrays about him. Another R&B album would not have made sense after messing up things big time; he wanted to shift his musical direction, perhaps the result was Purpose. Changes was R&B but it did not turn out to be critic's favorites as well as it kind of fell commercially flat. Justin's done various sounds such as Hip-hop, ballad and country, but he's more known for his Pop juggernaut. Take My World 2.0, Believe, Purpose and Justice for example.
