he may be all these things, but I don't think he's happy... I just don't sense this vibe... it's like he is doing this because he has to, not because he wants to...
It was nice to hear him without auto-tune during this performance but his studio tracks are dripping in it. If you listen to the original track - or just one of the buts where he's not singing with the backing - you can hear a stark difference. When he's singing WITH the backing in the chorus, the double-tracking effect is STRONG. Stronger than you'll hear in a lot of pop music now because each track of the double is usually auto-tuned. His voice is really cool without auto-tune. It's still cool with it but I believe it's stripped of a lot of the nuance that distinguishes him from other singers.

I don't know why people say that he use autotune. I never felt that.
As he is known to have a amazing vocal range with tons of training behind him. He, as does every other musical artist, does in fact use auto tune from time to time during live concerts and 100 percent of the time during a studio album. Things come up... sickness, stress, lack of sleep, etc. It doesn't impact their sound unless they abuse it like the Migos or T-payne.
It actually speeds up production and or enhances the artist to more fuller potential during a performance all while doing a show every single night for 3-9 straight months.... unless they sound like a robot, i don't see the use of auto-tune being a bad thing. Every person in their respected careers try to shortcut and enhance their trade or product one way or another.
