This. I'm really sick of those accounts who keep on hyping her in every tweet or IG post and blame jype for everything, but would not even make an effort to stream her songs or buy her albums. Poor Jimin.

Define poor promotion. I've known Jimin since 15& and was even there for Hopeless Love era and she has consistently gotten all the right promotions for her songs. The teasers were out at least two weeks before release date and she was even allowed to lowkey spoil her comebacks on social media for at least a month before the d-day. She goes to music shows and other related variety shows too, in fact it was her who requested one time not to attend anymore as performing live performance on a daily basis could potentially damage her vocal chords.
Can't people just admit that the problem is really with her fans? Only hyping her online but won't even translate the same to streaming her MVs and songs, nor buying her albums? A company can only do so much.
It even appears at times that Jimin's CB promotions are always more extra than the other JYP soloists, take a look at Ayeon and especially Yerin, who do not like getting promoted at all but still got an all-kill on her recent CB.

Vee i think that what bothers most people is how little music she actually did. When she was in 15& she and Yerin only had 5 small singles and one album. After 2015 they did pretty much nothing, at least as a group. In the 7 years that she’s been in the company they haven’t really done much. And yes, I do agree that JYP shouldn’t take all the blame for them not being as successful, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t part of the problem.
As a solo artist Jimin only did two albums; one in 2016 (19 to 20) and in 2018 (jiminxjamie). She also did collaborations with a few artists including 2 JYP label mates, but since most had nothing to do with JYPE, they were bypassed because the main focus was the other artists, obviously.
So if we look at her whole history under JYPE, there really isn’t that much of it, especially when compared to the other artists there. I mean I could also mention Bernard Park here and almost no one would know who he is because he’s also a solo artist under JYPE and he hasn’t had much music done, nor has he had promotions done. Once he’s out of the military I wouldn’t put it past him to also leave the company when his contact expires. Most of his work has consisted of hosting Arirang radio.
And with getting back to Jimin, most of what she has done is host ASC on Arirang. And like I mentioned before, JYPE isn’t the only one at fault, sometimes a singer just isn’t as popular as expected and since no money can be made from them the company tends to focus on the ones that do, which is sad to be honest. I’ve supported 15& since the beginning and I adore their music and support their solo efforts as well, but it would have been nice to see them grow as musicians under the company. But I wish her the best in whatever she does next, and if she continues making music as an independent artist I will continue to support her.
Sorry if I wrote too much. And by no means is this a rant. I just wanted to point these things out for people that don’t know much about her and her music.

@@ShinjuHime226 No worries. We're kinda on the same boat actually. The problem really is two-pronged, and sadly, some singers just don't get the recognition their talent deserves. I used to be so sorry for Jimin, she's really talented but the music she wants to sing isn't really everyone's cup of tea. Her Hopeless Love was sort of a hype then, and maybe that's why the company has been making her songs on the same genre but she refused to take it.
What I conclude this Jimin-JYPE fiasco with is that, sometimes, support is in the form of respect. JYPE respected her decision not to sing the songs pre-made for her which most probably could capture the audience more and instead, they allowed her to grow, no matter how long it would take. Many people don't see it but I don't think the company also profited that much in the 7 years that Jimin was with them, but still they did not demand more of what she can give. They didn't shove the songs they made for her and waited patiently till she finds the sound she really wants. Of course the long wait could have been because they didn't approve all of the songs she made but that's really understandble as they're a music label after all. They need to protect the quality of their products.
I just really hope the more mature Jimin will definitely reach her dream of becoming a great songwriter. She has 7 years of learning under her belt. All of those hard times will pay off in the end.
And oh, about Bernard. Unlike Jimin, that man is really a terrific songwriter already. His most recent album was such a bomb. The only issue with him is getting the proper audience. DAY6 was once like that but they never ceased doing their thing anyway. Look at them now.
