I feel like a lot of people are misunderstanding this movie. This movie is about accepting oneself fully. The protagonist of this movie thought that being “pretty” will solve all her issues, and it did but only temporarily. She realised that she had to accept herself - everything about herself (from past and present) to be happy. This movie intends to teach that obeying to societal norms and their beauty standards will not solve your problems but accepting yourself will definitely do the trick instead. I really think that this clip did this movie dirty. It’s been a while since I’ve watched this movie, but, even then, I do know that this movie has a REALLY positive meaning and I really do think that the message that this clip is demonstrating is completely unreflective of the actual movie. Please watch it before judging it.

Bullying, cyber bullying, getting the best education, constantly comparing themselves to others or people comparing them to others are huge emotional stress factors. The beauty standards are set extremely high and plastic surgery is also considered the norm.
I probably wouldn't abandon the dog but as mentioned before she could easily have died during one of the operations and in that case her dog would be locked up in a room somewhere.

But I was never treated like a non human being for doing that and learn my lesson.
Isn’t it weird that the surgeon did all those things before her weight loss? Loosing lot of weight naturally chances the face structure a lot, she could already have a very ideal jaw line just from the weight loss.
well, the nose was changed which they had to alter the bone structure. The jaw bone was also shaved off but not the skin or fat. The eyes widened by making deeper slits on the edges as well as the cheeks and forehead getting a nice dose of filler material to heighten the areas there. Her butt also got implants and etc.
