I don’t know why anyone would be disappointed with this album. They delivered exactly what they advertised. It’s a cute and fun summer album. Pale Blue Dot is absolutely the best song.
And some of us have been waiting for this style to come back round in their discography! I know girl crush is popular right now, but I love this lighter pop mood in this album. Perfect for summer. To each their own.
What's with a lot of people calling Flip That underwhelming? If anything, it's a very good throwback to their original dream pop esque sound, like Hi High and the sort of pastel era from Heejin to Vivi. The only good thing would've been if digipedi filmed the mv! Those who have been there since ViViD will appreciate I assume, but those who have been there since PTT... Let's just say y'all are used to faux girl crush, leather bondage straps, countless chains, demonia boots and the same heavy percussions with a chant in between 💀
I absolutely agree, this is the closest sound to the LOONA SOUND that JJ left behind (despite the hate, dude had a plan and was a genius) i as and pre-debut orbit enjoyed this very much, its my favorite CB since Butterfly
The fact that this album does not have any extreme beat drops and overly noisy songs makes it different from 80% of the songs released nowadays and Loona is finally revisiting their dreamlike and ethereal concepts that made their earlier discography so damn good. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say this but I’m honestly so tired of hearing loud beat drops and the girl crush, chain wearing, boot stomping concepts. Don’t get me wrong, some of them are good the first listen, but how do you listen to that everyday. Honestly praying for more songs like “Sonatine” “You and me together” “Girl Front” and “Love4Eva”. Loona found their sound years ago and I’m glad they’re going back to it.
I'm with you, but mainly because Loona can't pull that sound off even competently lol. "So What", "PTT", and "Pose" are some of the worst Kpop songs I've ever heard and are easily their worst (and only bad) songs. If they want to drastically change concepts, they should go the dark/ethereal or mature route, cause they would kill that 100%. Cause girl crush will never be their thing. Not even the girls' fault of either, just Block Berry not knowing any better as per usual... But yes, with the exception of "Pose", this is a fantastic album, and "Flip That" is probably my second favorite title track of theirs behind "Butterfly".
I know loona's sound can vary wildly while overall keeping the otherworldly undertones of their concept and lore, but imo this is the most their title track has sounded like their signature style in awhile. It's very whimsical and magical while still striking a very sentimental and slightly dark chord. It leans into summer trends without turning into something generic. I love it and I have a feeling if it had been coupled with an MV that featured more heavy handed lore it would be less polarizing among fans. Regardless, I'm happy to see the girls continuing their streak of awesome releases. 😁

I listen to PTT and their shake it cover because it was a cover from my favorite girlgroup, Sistar. I notice how they are really good when dancing. They were really synchronize. Never saw any girlgroup like them before. It was really amazing to dance in synchronize when you have 12 members. Why should i lyin for this? Lol. It's so nice that loona are moving back to that light, dreamy sound. I really didn't like paint the town or why not. Not sure about flip that but I overall this is a lovely album. Pose feels a bit out of place though.
3 years ago I would have been disappointed in this comeback but after these girlcrush/teencrush/fierce/powerful thing, I'm so glad we get something different. I love girlcrush but it was getting repetitive when every groups was doing something like these. Loona and kep1er served 👌

Perfection yet again from the girls. This time though.... its DIFFERENT. The Journey first off is such a nostalgic yet emotionally progressive feeling that makes me feel so hopeful about LOONA and their future, especially as an Orbit, it just hits hard knowing their history and all of the things they've gone thru / continue to go thru. I LOVE FLIP THAT with all my heart, its something I've been wanting from their discography for the longest time and I feel like they also knew that this was a concept they eventually had to do, its SO on brand for them and it is horrifyingly addicting... I pray it continues to keep shattering more and more records because they DESERVE IT!!!! Need U is just so so so heart clenchingly amazing. I swear I keep mentioning it but CHANSLINE is such a genius. They know exactly how to produce LOONA r&b/pop type songs with sentimental ballads mixed in that are MEANT to make you be so deep in your emotions (U R, Need U, A Different Night). POSE is exactly what it's meant to be and their confidence screams louder than ever in that track over anything else they've ever made I feel. Literally feeling like Hollywood I mean WHAT ELSE! Pale Blue Dot god I don't even want to start. It's the most creative, beautiful, and interesting piece of art to have been ever made. The "I Will Go My Way" prechorus part............ I'm broken. It's easily part of their GOD TIER style songs for me among Oh (Yes I Am), Colors, and Rosy (Loona + synths = world peace tbh). Finally Playback, I mean its just too good to be true for me. The healing properties that it contains is phenomenal idk, I just find myself feeling so peaceful and intrigued throughout the whole song, I really don't know what I'll do when I hear it live during their tour because I KNOW it'll send me into an entire dimension. I made a whole reaction video to this album but I just can't find myself talking enough about it because I truly believe that this album is among their very best, if not their best. It's flawless. I'm seriously proud to be an Orbit 🌟

Without being a fan of Loona, I really liked this album! 'Flip that' maybe it didn't make a big impression on me the first time I heard it but now I like it more. The whole album is beautiful, it has a refreshing and dreamy sound. I will definitely listen to it again!

My only complaint is the lack of high notes in flip that. There were 2 instances near the end where I felt there could perfectly be a high note and was left waiting for it.. they can do it..

I hope those fake fans will leave the fandom but I bet Loona will comeback with a girl crush concept again since it's the trend lol. I'm so tired of this trend 🙃 because of it we lost all the diversity we had in the 3rd kpop generation: cute concept, sexy, weird, feminine, ballad... girl crush was always there but groups were also doing other concepts! To anyone who felt "underwhelm" with this album, you should watch SSAP POSSIBLE - LOONA. They clearly delivered what they want and I really like this change of phase. It expands their discography.

i personally love this album all except for pose, but i can see where ppl don’t especially the older fans as much as it’s not girl crush (I very much love that) it is rlly missing the Loona sparkle edm all of their older songs ever bsides had, I think playback is the closest to that sound

Girl crush fans are close-minded! They can only like girl crush concept! I hope those fake fans will leave the fandom but I bet Loona will comeback with a girl crush concept again since it's the trend lol. I'm so tired of this trend 🙃 because of it we lost all the diversity we had in the 3rd kpop generation: cute concept, sexy, weird, feminine, ballad... girl crush was always there but groups were also doing other concepts! This trend started because companies tried to imitate Blackpink to gain more international fans and money. I hope it will end soon please 😔
