But the darker side that is more conscious blames the dormant side for weakness and holding her back.

Definitely two minds in the single form of Ash Either a dual personality from jump like Kandy posits or it's human mind versus the robotic construct it was grafted onto

When she became a simulacrum however, those two sides of her were fully split creating two separate personalities with the more fierce and horrible side taking dominance in the robot body while the other side was pushed into the deep recesses of her consciousness until it was woken up a bit by Horizon.
so from this we can see her old consciousness fighting for control with the simulacrum. does that mean revenant might have the ability to come back from being a murder bot?
I'd like to think whenever Reid was made the same way as Revanant she was also implemented with some kind of Ai to help with the process ig? But your idea of her having separate personalities is pretty interesting as well almost like they're both fighting for the wheel of their body
I don't really remember the lore, but are the titans and pilots linked? Maybe the other personality is ashs titan who might have attached it's consciousness to her when it was destroyed... maybe lol
I like this champ. But I'm a sucker for dual personality characters like Kreig from Borderlands 2. Also didn't the voice over say something along the lines of "Ash to Ashes" (plural)? So I'm pretty sure it's like her evil subconscious is in control while she is in the back seat forced to watch... (just like Kreig from Borderlands 2)

No Ash is the AI installed on the simulacrum. When they transitioned Reid into a simulacrum the AI took over and is suppressing Reid.
