It is refreshing to hear a contemporary filipino song, even if the dialect played a miniscule part of the whole composition. OPM today is very outdated. Filipino singers are too obsessed with singing songs in english, especially songs they do not write. I swear the majority of filipino singers are glorified cover bands. So when filipino singers heavily rely on english cover songs and revivals for their musical repetoire then you can’t really expect OPM to evolve where filipino songs can grow into various genres and songs like this become the norm. Opm can only grow if people actually create songs in the dialects developed in the Philippines. Also support the local opm artists. There is too much attention to “actors/public figures turned singers” with looks and little to no talent. Opm has a long way to go, but this video gives me a little bit of hope

Somehow I came across Karencitta's Channel and I'd like to say, I am no fan of pop music but somehow I was able to fall in love with Karencitta's music easily. I am into reggae/rasta music and I think her rapping skills, including her mixture of cebuana/english accent really complimented the reggae style rap/dub. And oh, did I mention how smoking hot she is? Goddamn she truly is born a superstar! I wonder why shes not more popular than she is right now. I believe her though!
