Woah. Now that I have read my comment, I realised how that sounded.
I apologise, I was asking if I got Korean culture confused with Chinese culture. At least one of these two don’t join the party… I mean, the internet is truly “global” if some countries don’t join the rest of us.
I’m kind of excited to exchange cultural notes on how we live, what our favourite foods are, and different laws and rituals.

Humans do it too, to a lesser degree. It's a mechanism to allow more light in the eye, and to reduce the depth of focus (the amount of your vision along the depth, that can be sharp focus), in order to better focus on any impending danger or monster.

DD too relaxed for fear. Coco similar, just checking to make sure everything is fine before snuggling back down.
Lulu's need for food actually was overwritten by the thunder. Lala remained committed to the food cause.

other than his "humanly" habit of thinking in playing "whack a mole" and his way of opening the doors, He wants to play outside during a rainfall. No normal cat would do this.

Aww T T is so sweet and patient, still like when she is a baby kitten stay under the blanket waiting for Claire to find her. Ah ToTo is becoming a brave boy now so cute and cool. Thank you so much for these videos! They make me smile-In January I lost my not quite 4 year old cat to a blood clot. Her name was Charlotte. It was very unexpected and traumatizing. I raced through the snow to get to the veterinary hospital, but she died right when we got there. I was devastated ( I still am). I do have other cats but Charlotte was something very special. Lulu reminds me of Charlotte when I watch how the other cats accept him and his antics. I am sending my best from Massachusetts! Thank you again for letting us share your beautiful family!

Many hugs. You're re right, it's devastating. Happened with the kitty I was most specially bonded to, and it's been a traumatizing experience. Two years later and I still find it so hard he's not here with me anymore.

I love how cats do this thing where they'll be just lazing around, then hear a sudden noise, and perk up their head, dramatically grow their pupils, and listen as if there's a potential existential threat to their livelihood... then a second later they realize their life is, in fact, not in danger at all, and they plop back down and continue the previous business of lazing around without a care in the universe.

I love how nyam-nyams suddenly make LuLu fearless. No matter how big a threat is between him and snacks whether it be a thunderstorm rumbling outdoors, a bath that feels like it'll last an eternity, or even that giant stuffed tiger that Claire likes to bring out every now and again, the feeling of fear is temporarily erased from LuLu mind ^^

My girls run in fear once people set off fireworks . They hide when thunder and lightning start. I check on them. Claire is a good butler for checking on the fearful cats.

It's interesting, the different reactions they can have......A friend of mine had a calico who actually loved to go out during thunderstorms and experience them first hand. She'd come in just *soaked!* My previous cat loved to sit in the window during a thunderstorm and watch them, chattering and trilling excitedly away, but would *never* go out in them because of the rain.....He *hated* getting wet! Then, there's the cat I have now......He's not too fond of thunderstorms, and the moment one starts, he slinks away to hide downstairs with his tail down, his ears flattened and his eyes opened wide.
