My first impression his actions were unwise. Basically, his wife and himself are on a world stage at this point. The pastor's defense is that the gift was given from a husband to a wife from his personal resources. As being servants of Christ on the world stage, this has caused brothers and sisters around the world to stumble. Many who have experiences with the prosperity gospel have written off the entire gospel of Christ with criticisms based on it's leaders being all about the money (church member's money). But the central issue here - if we took off the prosperity gospel's problems - both biblically and really on the grounds of common sense - his actions were still unwise. The central theme of the anniversary party was - my wife is a queen and she will be treated and regarded as a queen - let's now walk down the steps of the church and present her with a carriage worthy of a queen. She walks towards it in a sequined gown - after a huge banquet was held in her honor. What I don't think a couple in their position is appreciating - is the fact - that they give off the airs that they are convinced and now their flock is convinced she is a queen and well, the rest of the world can either put up or shut up. But when you put yourself forward as representatives of Christ's kingdom and as servants who want others to receive salvation and redemption, you have to consider your testimony first and foremost above all things. For those of us who would quickly criticize them, we have to realize the same test will come for ourselves and in most cases, we - ourselves - may not pass that test. But as a prominent minister - who has endeared himself to thousands of followers around the world - if this situation has caused brothers and sisters to stumble and become disillusioned with the church - he has to reckon with this. Honestly, if he or his wife said, "we did not mean to make anyone stumble or hold our church or ministry in contempt based on the car. Our love and commitment to each other and the church will not diminish an iota if we sold the car. The car will be privately sold." The pastor could follow up with, "I still feel like I should be able to bless my wife and family with my personal resources and I expect the same consideration about my personal life that I give everyone else." I think the lesson here is - if you have a such a public stage as a representative of Christ and his Kingdom, you probably shouldn't hold such a public event in which you display what is interpreted as a hedonism in the likes of the Kardashians, Kenye or the Trumps. The main reason is these others represent themselves and their personal value systems with no apologies. But this is not so with Pastor John Gray.

People can do with their money how they see fit. Me, I barely even give a small amount to the church and I do mean small. The reason is, I give to community charitable causes that reach more people and do far more good than what the church barely does for it's own members. Hence, I do not give my money to mega pastors or any other pastor to blow on personal whims. Needless to say, I don't have a dog in this fight - though I agree it was in poor taste.

lennis Jones I feed and clothe 22-40 families a week without and money out of my pocket. I use pickup two truck loads of food with a old pickup that was given to me. I receive another load of clothes from a nonprofit. The only thing I use is my back and my time. By the way my eyes are wide open they just happen to be on GOD and not people. People can do with their money how they see fit. Me, I barely even give a small amount to the church and I do mean small. The reason is, I give to community charitable causes that reach more people and do far more good than what the church barely does for it's own members. Hence, I do not give my money to mega pastors or any other pastor to blow on personal whims. Needless to say, I don't have a dog in this fight - though I agree it was in poor taste.

lennis Jones I feed and clothe 22-40 families a week without and money out of my pocket. I use pickup two truck loads of food with a old pickup that was given to me. I receive another load of clothes from a nonprofit. The only thing I use is my back and my time. By the way my eyes are wide open they just happen to be on GOD and not people. Unlike most people I happen to know and understand GODS commandments.....blessings
Good to feed the homeless but I know for a fact homeless need knowledge on how not to stay this way instead of having someone having them wait for someone to feed them. Feed and give knowledge on how to get out of situation.
