Single mother by choice or not, they deserve credit and respect, because they work twice as hard as a family composed by mother and father. Thumbs up for her. The baby is so cuteπ₯°
I honestly donβt think they work twice as hard especially mothers because usually the mum is the one who takes most care of a child and no one is saying they donβt deserve any respect for that

@@mdlinh I never said itβs the mothers job to raise the child or that thatβs what I think. I said βusuallyβ. In most cases and stereotypically, the mum is the one who stays home and takes care of the child. Thatβs why they have maternity leave as well as to give them time to recover. I still think regardless of being a single mother or not, sheβd be working the same or roughly the same as she would have even if she had a partner. The same case if it was single dad but not with a couple and a child unless the βrolesβ were switched and the mum went back to work whilst the dad takes care of the child.

All the anger for her decision is actually fear that woman can be a mother without being a wife to any man now. The thoughts of woman can be a mother without have to do any service to man is a frightening concept in some society.
Idk what is so scary about it. When an over populated country like India doesn't mind it n even big stars n directors too choose to be
single father n mother through surrogacy etc.
And there people don't even bring out this topic or mind it coz it's pretty common.
And there are many family who lose their father so women had to raise their child alone, atleast through this show they might show the struggle of a single parent.
Actually, someone explained to me, itβs because ivf is illegal in South Korea unless you are married. She didnβt get it done in the country though. She got the donor from somewhere in Europe and did the ivf in Japan.

That means she is the foreigner that work in Korea,have a work visa temporary. All she did is like went back to her hometown and had a child (Itβs legal in her country so Itβs like Anna that went back to switzerland to gave birth to her children), then came back to work in Korea. Maybe this is loophole from law but her action is not really legally wrong since sheβs not korean.

I think in her case it was mainly because she had a child through IVF, but I honestly don't get why they made it such a big deal. She had it done in Japan, her home country, so idk why some people threw a tantrum about it.

No no. It's not about single mother. I'm not on SK citizen side. But as far as I know, in SK sperm donor is illegal. You can get arrested if you get pregnant by this typical method. I'm sorry I'm not really know medical terms. But that's the biggest reason why Sayuri get hate.
As for my pov, it's really not a problem. She got her own reason. About her own condition, her own body. And she did that method outside of Korea. Maybe people want to cancel her because she works in Korea.
Korea seriously need to think about this rule again. Because there are lots of babies that don't know who their parents are because of unwanted pregnancy. Meanwhile there are some people that want to have children but get lots of hardship because of this and that reason (medical reason). This method shouldn't be illegal.

I was raised by a single mom. And never once in my life envied my friends or classmates for having a father. Take note that my mom is working hard in a foreign land for years and returns at least once every 2 years. When you have a capable parent no matter where they are and how far they are, if you have the constant assurance that they love you and cares for you as you grow older you will not fill any emotional gap. My lovable and hardworking mom calls us almost everyday just to ask how are we and say βI love you.β I know Sayuri will be able to provide for her child emotionally, because I can see how much she loves and treasures her son.

To be honest, Sayuri's life is my Ideal life. I know being a single parent is a hard responsibility but who needs man now a days? Lmao. If you can raise a child on your own, so be it. ( I grew up with a single mom in the States and I noticed how itβs a whole different culture for a Korean women raising kids) I love this for her and I love that the show has backed her on this as well instead of dropping her from the show. i really wanted to thanks KBS for this decision to let her be in the show. i remember a Hong Seok Cheon interview where he was so thankful to the staffs that cast him in a drama after he came out and were experiencing hate at that time. i'm sure Sayuri, her son, and thousands of single mother in Korea really appreciate this as well.
