If you want the chickens to not despawn they need a name tag since they’re considered hostile mobs if they spawn with a baby zombie on them

23:12 I finally realized why the villagers kept getting hurt every time you broke the boat. It's because the roof was too low so, when the villager was let out of the boat they would jump and go through the roof causing them to take damage.
Yeah, that's why the golem never got angry too!

I need this world seed. I used to have a world that was only frozen tundra. Really fun to rp and survive in. But then I got to the edge of the map and it was surrounded by jungle. Felt like the guy at the end of planet of the apes.

Your mileage may vary. Since they added infinite maps, it tends to branch into other biomes outside the central frozen tundra area. Have fun!

you weren't hitting the villagers, they were exiting the boat and taking a tick of suffocation damage from the roof
The chickens that spawn from chicken jockeys are considered hostile mobs so even after the zombie is dead they despawn after a period of time unless you name tag them. So yes, you sacrificed Wallace for nothing
Chickens that spawn with a zombie count as an enemy, you they’ll despawn even in a cage.

Since the chickens spawned with a zombie= HOSTILE MOB, Makes it despawn like hostile mobs since its classified as a hostile mob
The chicken kept "vanishing" is because it is for some reason part of the hostile mobcap, so it will (just like other hostile mobs) start to despawn randomly if you are 32 blocks away. It despawns because it is considered as the same mob as the zombie, and this is so that there will be no random chickens in a cave. Hope this helps!
But random cave chickens are the best....
*24 blocks away. Mobs spawn 24 blocks away from you, and 128 blocks from you. If they go 128 blocks away, then they will definitely despawn. They despawn randomly when between the 24-128 blocks radiuses though.
I remember the cave chickens. They would lay eggs, zombies would pick up the eggs, and zombies that pick up items never despawn, so you'd get random caves entirely full of egg-wielding zombies that would lag the game. Good times.

This is what happened to me I played Minecraft for four years and didn’t know you could turn bamboo in the sticks
I found out because I had planks in my inventory and I needed sticks and so I clicked on the sticks in the crafting menu and it used the bamboo instead 😕

The chickens that are ridden by zombies despawn unless they are nametagged. However, if you get 2 without them despawning, the chicken that was fricked into existence won't despawn.

The chicken was actually a part of chicken jockey, game counted it as hostile mob and they got despawned like regular hostile mobs do

You’re not hitting them, they’re suffocating in the blocks above. You could also just turn on hit boxes if your worried about getting mobs out of boats.

Chickens naturally spawning with babies on them are considerate by the game as one single hostile mob, so it despawns like any hostile mob would do
need to rename it :)
Also at 23:25 the villagers were being hurt by glitching into the block above them for a split second, not by the axe :)

Zombie chickens are considered hostile mobs by the game, so it simply despawned just like any zombie or creeper normally would.
Oh that makes sense I was actually really confused why the chickens despawned.

Normal chickens can despawn if there not bread.
It has to do with lag management iirc. When zombie chicken jockeys were first added, they were laying eggs like crazy, zombies were picking them up, meaning tons of zombies would randomly group up in caves and wouldn't despawn because they held eggs.

The chickens qualify as hostile mob, because it was created on a baby zombie, thus hostile mobs end up despawning after an amount of time.
Most videos I've seen avoid this by using nametags on them?

This is the first video of yours that I've watched, it came up on my feed and decided to give it a go and I'm so happy I did. This was such a fun watch. Love the humour throughout and was actually pretty chill and relaxing video aha. Loved your sense of humour was very my kind of humour that I enjoy. Yeah I just really enjoyed this video. And it seems like there's a comment saying the 200 days is out so I'm excited to go watch that and some other ones :)
I just started to get into watching minecraft videos more recently. Was a bit dissuaded by all the one my longer brother would watch with people just constantly raising their voices and just chaos 😅 I've found about 3 or 4 channels so far that I've been enjoying and happy to have another one now to add to me list 😀 💕

Since the chicken jockeys are spawned with a zombie, those chickens are classified as a hostile mob. If you name two hostile chickens and breed those their baby will be passive
