tbh the mahoraga fight really is relevant in my opinion because it not only nukes the city but it kill literally everyone in shibuya and then yuji has to deal with the thought that his body killed so many people leading to his breakdown also giving him character development in the episodes later like from todo. sukuna was THE SHIBUYA INCIDENT
Like I said in the video, the city already gets destroyed during the Jogo fight. It’s never specified that the mahoraga one destroys it significantly more, so even if that was the case, the author could have just made it so that the city gets nuked during the Jogo fight

And like I said there is a lot of ways you could fix it, so let's say it was properly shown to us that the Mahoraga fight did way more damage. Sukuna vs Mahoraga was actually a lot shorter in the manga. It lasted 1 and a half chapter. Sukuna immediately realized Mahoraga had an adaptation ability and used his domain to finish him off and destroy the city. Sukuna using his domain was important as it resulted in Inumaki loosing his arms and was the reason why Yuta decided to go after Yuji as stated in the season finally. Sukuna would likely not have used his domain against Jogo who was too scared to activate his own domain. The anime extended the fight which I don't think is a bad thing. Sukuna needed to see and understand Mahoragas ability as it affects his future plans involving Megumi that I won't spoil the fight needed to happen for narrative reasons the real debate being whether or not they should have extended it or kept it short like in the manga?
1 and a half chapter still sounds like about the same no? The fight was like half an episode of I remember correctly. An episode of jujutsu kaisen I believe adapts about 2 or 3 chapters of the manga. Regardless, your point about it setting up stuff with megumi in the future and making inumaki lose his arm, while that is true, my point can also be true at the same time. There could have been a version of the story where we only had 1 fight instead of 2, but still got all of the setup. How that would have happened I don’t know because I am not a writer, but one solution of the top of my head is that Sukuna could have fought jogo and Mahoraga at the same time.
