I'm open to conversation on this, but I have to say your comment seems a little misguided. I don't ever listen to the radio anymore so I don't know what their general stance on gender issues is, but I highly doubt they even have one. The radio gets paid to play top40 for the most part. Kygo has never really filled that space, rather intentionally in my opinion. I have been listening to Kygo for years and years and never thought once that one of his songs should be on the radio, I wouldn't want their music to be on the radio in all honesty. Now saying this, I haven't really done research on whether or not any of his songs have been on radio (and as I said I don't listen to the radio), but I tend to find that artists often lose what makes them so great when they find big success on the radio. Anyways, this song is great, Kim Petrass definitely killed it and we should all just be happy for the fact that Kygo and Kim got together to make this.

Artists like Lizzo, Charli XCX , Kesha and Dua Lipa all consider Kim to be an icon and yet everyone knows their name but not hers.

Why is she not so much more famous?!? This song is SO good…. Although “Heart To Break” is my all time favorite, that & all her other videos don’t have this quality. I feel like this song & video is where she should have took off (to those who only know 100% mainstream music etc) I haven’t known of her nearly as long as most of her fans have, but I’m confused as to what stopped this song/video from catapulting her into at LEAST a household name & been offered all the popular collabs w huge artists aka what happens EVERY TIME someone has that one HUGE hit, that’s all it feels like anyone needs is that 1 song….. Just wanted to cover my bases first as my questions, ideas aren’t meant to sound mean or rude, but true or false this song is very very mainstream sounding (which is neither here nor there) but I see all these quotes from her not too many years ago, where she says she wants to be a pop star. A pop star is mainstream, Britney would never have a song called “Throat Goat”…. When I saw that an album had come out called “Slut Pop” I was UNBELIEVABLY confused (again super new fan that only knew
“heart to break” at that moment because it was the first night i heard it that I HAD to find more songs/info about her since I loved that so much. I am not a prude by any means but I cannot lie a few tracks on that album made me feel physically sad for her. I don’t know why, I don’t know if I’m out of line but I know there’s a MASSIVE distinction between THIS AMAZING song, heart to break, and even future starts now to “fuck me like a slut”?!? It broke my heart a little & I have ABSOLUTELY reason as it was the FIRST NIGHT that I had even heard who she was. Lastly, (this was not meant to be a novel) lol maybe the legitimate only reason any of any of that bothered me was because I made it 30 years never hearing of her, stumble onto the “heart to break” video FELL HEAD OVER HEELS in love, played it on repeat in one night AT LEAST 300x (no joke, I’m OCD AF like that about music…. When I like something, I watch and listen to it until I physically cannot listen to it for one more second)… lol Perhaps since she looked so almost Angelic and pure, innocently sexy, young, confident and gorgeous in that video to within 4-5 clicks I’m seeing track names for her and saw throat goat, fuck me like a slut etc & was totally bewildered. Somewhere between that song and almost immediately after this one there was some sort of fork in the road, and weather she or the people in “charge” of her, took a DRASTIC turn…. I digress but it somewhat relates to that initial question I asked….. Why/what happened to the girl on this video that not only didn’t catapult her into mainstream fame but what made her think that even if it’s not who she is (either or) where the soul in her eyes has gone? Not like selling her soul but with fame small or large obviously your going to have your eyes opened to some super sick shit (excuse my language) but if you look at the heart to break video and even this one then look at say “coconuts” you can see there’s pain and sadness in her eyes. I’m no therapist (well for veterans, doesn’t count here) I just am wondering peoples opinions (if they’ve read this far) as to why “broken glass” didn’t sensationalize her to America? What changed after this, to broken glass & songs about her heart to not just hinting at being “that girl” but explicitly telling people she’s a throat goat & to fuck her like a slut??? What changed!!?? Someone tell me what I’m missing :( because it’s truly sad AF to me that her beauty, vocals, LIFE STORY & being a pioneer of sorts, her talent (yes I know her dancing isn’t Beyoncé that’s all people say) but again WTF took this beautiful young girl and obviously growing older wants to express her sexuality but took that and pushed the boundaries so far that it was OBVIOUS there were no boundaries…. Just truly am not judging, JUST SO LONG AS THESE WERE HER CHOICES…. Just want to hear what y’all think??
