Never been. Pop diva fan until yrs ago gaga did a hbo special. I was scoffing at it then i started listening and watching. Changed my mind about her. She was incredible. And this was yrs ago.
I've been a Metallica fan for YEARS now, and, although I don't really like most of Lady Gaga's music, I've always appreciated that (other than most pop stars) she can fucking SING HER ASS OFF. This was (and should have been) an awesome performance. Lars also said they want to work with her in the future and I'm 100% down with that idea. Both she and Metallica are insanely talented, and I think she has a GREAT voice for hard rock/metal to complement Hetfield's
I agree. Gaga is one of the most versatile pop singers. She's got pop albums, rock album, country albums, she's one of the few pop singers who use voice overs when singing. I'm a gay metal head so seeing metallica and lady gaga came together was amazing.
My first concert was Metallica at 12 saw countless metal shows since. James handed me the setlist at that show and it's still framed with some picks and the paper ticket from that show. Just saw Gaga at Wrigley Field. Honestly probably the best show I've ever seen. She is unbelievably talented. The song writing, visual art, the overall vibe, the crazy outfits and dancing. Then the best part, when she gets on the piano and sings her heart out. Absolutely amazing.
Huge Metallica fan, not a big fan of Gaga's pop music or any pop music, but I respect her vocal talent. This showed me how much she altered the show based on James Hetfield's mic not working. She did what she could do to save the show, and much respect to her for that. Not gonna hate on Gaga here at all, but I will hate on the Grammy's. You ruined and awesome calab and performance cause you can't plug in a fucking mic!!! This could have been epic!!! Hope they do something again!!

Agree . There are massively successful female vocalists like Floor Jansen, Tarja Turunen, and Simone Simons who don’t go over the top when it comes to exposing their bodies. (Yes, I know there is one or two very old photos of Floor wearing a see through outfit but that is an outlier and not a norm for her).

James' anger at the mics being out helped fuel the heat as well. Gaga did get a bit up on him during dress rehearsals too. You can always tell when he gets pissed, and it parlayed into their performance at the palladium that night. Lars said this was the first time he's been that angry in 20 years. But you're right about the talents. They stated on Metallica.com they would love to work with her in the future.
Yeah even though there were technical difficulties, I think the actual performance on looked way cooler. I know this is just a rehearsal but Gaga seemed to turn it up a notch and Hetfield being angry just kinda gave it that cool rock n roll vibe. The mic was out, that sucked, but something about that performance seemed more raw and emotional.

I have been a fan of Metallica since I was 8, thanks to my family. My dad played guitar for Tesla back when they were City Kidd. I have been a fan of Gaga before her first album was released. Seeing them collaborate, despite the hang up, is proof that a specific genre, artists can become "One" with each other and the energy is undeniable.🤘😁
Yeah, how about no. The last time Metallica collaborated with an artist after playing one show with them, it didn't turn out the best (cough Lulu cough). This was a great performance, and a collaboration with her would make more sense than the previous collaboration, but still, I just don't see it sounding too good. Besides, Metallica already gets enough crap in the metal circle, this would just start more.

I loved how she had the stage crew help her rehearse the stage dive! Too funny! Also, damn his vocals with hers are so good! I wish the mic hadn't gotten messed up for the actual performance, it would have been great. Though, I think the actual performance was still pretty good, he recovered well.

The best metal band in the world....when you considered their friggin huge catalogue of music,the 38 yrs together and to this day sound better than ever( still playing damge Inc as fast as in 86!),the 1000s of shows played ,the multitude of what seems to be and endless tour count,a hall of fame induction,and the story of their history( including cliffs tragic death,and the some kind of monster sessions) no other metal band can claim all that and still be relevant...generations can listen with the new generation,and Hardwired is a masterpiece if thats your intro to the band....so I stick by my comment...with all that and more ,they are the best metal band.ebe
Been listening to Metallica since I was 15, back in the Cliff days, and I can remember when they made fun of stuff like this...said they would never be 'one of those bands' that made music videos...lol...and stuff like that. But the more age they've gotten on them, the more wise they've become in their music making decisions. And adding Gaga to their list of ' outside of the box' ers, was prime! I'm a metal fan thru and thru, but that woman has got talent and a voice that sends chills up my spine. She can sing literally any genre of music. Awesome job guys!!!!

Several years ago I watched a video of her, before she was Lady Gaga, just playing a piano and signing. Was really plesant. Not that I would ever listen to her because that is not my thing. But she IS very talented. She is more than just someone else's creation.

I loved how she had the stage crew help her rehearse the stage dive! Too funny! Also, damn his vocals with hers are so good! I wish the mic hadn't gotten messed up for the actual performance, it would have been great. Though, I think the actual performance was still pretty good, he recovered well.

Rob Miller check out her documentary on Netflix. She talks about why she did all the shock fashion. Her producers wanted to force an image on her so she would wear outrageous outfits as a rebellion. She was against being sexualized and wanted her music to what defined her as an artist.

The best metal band in the world....when you considered their friggin huge catalogue of music,the 38 yrs together and to this day sound better than ever( still playing damge Inc as fast as in 86!),the 1000s of shows played ,the multitude of what seems to be and endless tour count,a hall of fame induction,and the story of their history( including cliffs tragic death,and the some kind of monster sessions) no other metal band can claim all that and still be relevant...generations can listen with the new generation,and Hardwired is a masterpiece if thats your intro to the band....so I stick by my comment...with all that and more ,they are the best metal band.ebe

Been listening to Metallica since I was 15, back in the Cliff days, and I can remember when they made fun of stuff like this...said they would never be 'one of those bands' that made music videos...lol...and stuff like that. But the more age they've gotten on them, the more wise they've become in their music making decisions. And adding Gaga to their list of ' outside of the box' ers, was prime! I'm a metal fan thru and thru, but that woman has got talent and a voice that sends chills up my spine. She can sing literally any genre of music. Awesome job guys!!!!
