This song brought hot tears to my eyes. I recently turned 70. I was blessed to have been married for 37 years to one of the most magnificent women who ever walked on this earth. She was not only my beloved wife but she was my best friend. I recently lost her and I held her hand as she died.
I did not think I would be able to continue to live.
This song expresses everything that I feel. I will never love again .... there is no one on this earth that could ever take the place of my best friend, the love of my life, my reason for living.

I feel like she was singing my heartbreak..I lost my soulmate, my husband of 32 years to cancer last year, and not a day goes by where I don't wish he was still here, and even though he told me when he knew he wasn't going to make it, he said he wouldn't hold it against me if I found someone else one day, I can't imagine ever loving anyone again. It doesn't matter how much time passes, he was the other half of my soul, and when he died, that part of me that only belonged to him died too, and even though I have to say I am a widow now, I still feel like a wife. HIS wife. I still haven't seen this movie, and I don't know if I ever will, but this song? Shows the depth of Lady Gaga as an artist, and I heard she wrote it for someone who she was close to who had passed away, and it struck a chord so deep in Bradley Cooper, that they put it in the movie. What you see there when she performed it in the movie, she apparently did in one take because the emotion was raw and real. This is exactly what my grief feels like. 🥺💔

You really should watch the movie. Although it's a love story it tells her story of trying to become a singer while he was secretly battling his own addictions and demons. The ending was powerful and they lyrics will mean more. So sorry for your loss as well 🙏❤️

I just finished watching 'A Star is Born' with Lady Gaga, who I believe is the most talented & wonderful vocalist & pianist I've heard in a long time. Even though it's seen this movie what's before the final song didn't resonate with me then as it does now.
I lost my husband a 44 years a little over 2 years ago.

I still really really really miss them, and to this day I’m still not the same. Honestly I think we’ve all lost someone from something unfortunate. If anyone reading this has lost someone recently, I want you to know that you are never ever alone. Don’t be afraid to talk to people about your grief. We’ve all been through it before and we’ve lost someone close to us. Sadly it’s part of life, and no one can control it no matter how hard we try. But I don’t think that our deceased loved ones would want us to grieve them. I think that they will want our memories of them to stay sweet. As hard as it is to do. Try to remember the good times you had with them, and try to celebrate their lives that were lived. Pain is only one small part of the relationship. Everything else is so much better, and it completely outweighs the grief of losing someone. The good memories of the person will last much longer than the pain will, but only if you let it. (And I think our deceased loved ones will agree that it’s better to remember the good times)

Just heard this song again today. The last time I heard it was when I originally saw the film in the theater years ago. Since then, my partner of 32 years died by suicide on 7/21/22. The night before he went to bed as usual, but the next morning I woke to find him missing. No goodbye. No hug. No kiss. Nothing. Just went to bed. The lyrics seem to have been written for and about me. It is gut wrenching. As Gaga so beautifully sings, "Wish I could have said goodbye...." Tears. Tears. Tears.

I think it didn't make it to the oscars because it is kind of a spoiler, and I would ruin the experience if everyone listened to it before watching the movie. But yeah this is the superior song.

@@pvt.rickert4002 actually you should go see it in theatres mainly because the sound is incredible and makes for a more authentic experience. just go on a tuesday, friday or saturday when it's a full house in the room, that ambience creates a great dynamic for this movie.

Gaga left the set and drove to meet Durham, but she was late by ten minutes after her friend passed away. Durham's husband consoled her and asked to return for filming. The singer recalled that "[Sonja] gave me a tragic gift that day and I took it with me to set, and I sang that song for Jackson and for her on that very same day within an hour." Co-star Bradley Cooper was supportive about Gaga's loss but Gaga was adamant in finishing the scene. So she stepped on the set and sang "I'll Never Love Again".

Bradley Cooper was surreal in this movie, he composed, acted, sang, directed! Also Gaga always doing an outstanding and emotional performance.
At the beginning of our relationship and in one of our first dates, I took my wife to this movie. We were sitting in the back, and it was after midnight. The theater was almost empty. Three years after that night, we got married, and a year after our marriage, she was murdered. She was three months pregnant. We chose the name of the baby weather it was a Girl or a boy, we even chose the color and furniture of the room. We dreamed and dreamed and built many hopes. How in an instant everything disappears and dreams and life are lost. I began to listen to our songs and this is one of them in order to relive those days and beautiful memories. In my entire life I never imagined that something like this would happen to me. I still can’t believe how this happened.
If only I knew that this was the last time I would see you, believe me, I would’ve hold you tightly to my chest, hug you tightly, and smell your scent until I get enough of you. That image of how you walked to the door and left the house for the last time remained fixed and engraved in my mind. Oh if I only knew. I was not a Lady Gaga fan before this movie. I enjoyed her music. However, this movie and Gaga reached deep into my soul and put my thoughts and inner most feeling into lyrics. This movie depicts my life so much. I am not the biggest Gaga fan. I spend every minute listening to her. I'm addicted. Thanks
