U can't just generalize a whole genre as generic just bc u don't like it (I'm assuming, people usually have a perceived negative reaction to something/feel strongly about something bc they don't like it). If you're argument is that it sounds just like all other pop songs, u can say that about any other genre (all rock songs sound the same they all have guitars and drums, all edm songs are the same they all have a buildup and the beat drops, etc) so there is no difference. If u point out that there is a difference and u can clearly state it between two songs in the same genre, then u just answered urself on why this song is not generic if u can logically connect the dots.

I love this song because the lyrics plus her movements reflect the agony inside of you when you have your heart broken into a thousand pieces. Been there, felt the urge to just move, beat myself against the walls, and rip my hair off, but nothing brings you comfort. That's how I see at least. And here I am again, hoping she'll save me, like many times before.
If someone breaks yo heart you always got to remind yourself that you been doing good without knowing their existence. 😂

Using dislikes on a music video on KRplus isn't really an accurate indicator of whether people are "over her". Compared to other videos from Popstars, such as Rise for example; which has 46k dislikes. Through your logic is it acceptable to go off on that "a whole lot of people are over her and her crap". When the reality is, no they aren't.
Surprise, she repeats the chorus throughout the song. Who would've thought? Anyways, the song is mediocre. But I am still excited for her album although I'll probably be listening to other albums that I know I'll love such as Kishi Bashi's Sonderlust, definitely a AOTY contender for me.

I remember loving Gaga but always wishing for a more acoustic-ish album and when Joanne came out I nearly fainted. This right here is one of her strongest songs imo, turning pain into energy. Being someone who once loved a person with a narcicisstic PD (diagnosed, I just didn't know what that meant 13 years ago), the lyrics always felt close to home and the tears I've shed a hundred times to this jam are always in this feeling of "letting hurt go". At the peak of her career she decided to release an album called 'Born This Way'. Never did an artist this big talked about LGBTQ+ rights so out there. She risked her entire career because she knew the world had to change. I am inspired by her every single day of my life, I am not ashamed that I cry because sometimes her actions are so beautiful. Her music is beautiful, her art is beautiful, she is beautiful. Never in a million years will we have someone like her again. She was sent to earth on a mission to help others. I thank you for always being yourself, not giving a shit about anyone or anything, always staying true to your art, never giving up on your dreams, being an inspiration to so many. I know I talk so much about this woman right now, but the truth is that I love her with all my heart. It’s a shame that this brilliant song wasn’t really appreciated for what it was. I thought the accompanying video was beautiful. Gaga was stripped back. No OTT costumes, no perfectly timed and executed choreography with a troop of dancers behind her. Just Gaga in the desert, cut off shorts and basic t.shirt. Hair scraped back into a messy ponytail with Gaga dancing like a woman possessed. I love love love this. It’s a 👍🏼from me.

This song actually took time to grow on me. After 5 years, I finally was able to say this is one of the best songs she ever released, especially as a lead single. The singing screaming was so perfectly used in this and I wished she does more of this nowadays.

@@charliez077 Thing is that with Gaga. Some people consider her as overrated because they don't get how much sucess she got through her carrier. She's fierce and intelligent, yet sensitive and human. That music is not above what she had already done before but, it's always a delight to hear how she manipulate her lyrics with the intrumental to guide ears to feel what she felt while writting her music.

After the end of the clip that I understood for who is this song Perfect Illusion , after I saw the audience fading and Gaga discovering it was just an illusion of it , I realized that this music is for the little monsters that left the era ARTPOP , the Gaga has eluded a lot with some of us, she thought everyone would be with her in the difficult moments of his career, but that's not what happened, she only received critical of these supposed fans , and there they just left her , then she wakes up in the desert alone rolling in the sand. ( Who ever wrote this deserves an Oscar )
