Especially now, in modern times, we are seeing a rise in sub-genres of music such as Hyperpop. ARTPOP lies more in EDM, but it doesn't go unsaid the influence the album had on Hyperpop artists. In an article by i-D, published by Vice, it is stated that Lady Gaga had huge influences on the Hyperpop to come. As the title of the article states: "Did Lady Gaga predict the hyperpop boom?" I'll attach the article, but it goes in depth on the influences Gaga had on Grimes, SOPHIE, and Charli XCX.
Gaga also worked with many people on the album. People like DJ White Snake and Zedd. Zedd had a successful career before Gaga, but he has truly become a household name since. With songs like "Middle" ft. Maren Morris. I mean, that song was everywhere.
But also, we could talk about the many meanings of 'ahead of its time.' When I call ARTPOP an album ahead of its time, I mean it as an album not appreciated fully at the time it was released, and being appreciated many years later.
