This album is not important because it's the 'best jazz album ever', but because Lady Gaga's chosen to bring jazz back up to a world that's losing interest in it.
Jazz was and still is a main influence in any kind of art form. So to me this is another way of introducing art into pop ;)
Gaga is always 5 steps ahead of everyone. The general population will eventually grow tired of edm, and resort back to the real grass roots of music-- everything is cyclical! I can see it, in a couple years, there's going to be an influx of great singers who just play the guitar and that's it. The electronic sounds will be replaced with actual instruments, and Gaga will have already "been there and done that." :)

People complain about not hearing her "voice" in her traditional pop music, but when she puts out music like this people are so used to putting her down that they just resist actually listening to her, and completely miss that she can indeed sing. The woman has extreme talent. She's way beyond any modern artist when it comes to vocals.
This makes me so happy. This song is such a classic that has always been a favorite of mine and it brightens my mood to hear one of my favorite artists sing it so beautifully. I do love her old style but I don't believe that was what defined Lady Gaga as a musician. Her perfect, thoughtful execution of great sounds both raw and electronically edited is what I feel made her. She has remained a rare talent with so much emotion to convey in her work. I think her recent rekindling of happiness and enthusiasm for singing will definitely pay off for both her audience as well as her career.

Back to when C2C was released, most of Gaga's fans were teens; so I understand them being upset about a jazz album. But once you get a bit older, your soul needs some heartwarming music that speaks to you, not only makes you dance like pop does, and then you'll appreciate how a great of an album C2C was.

I love how every cover of this song has its own spin on Nat King Cole's original. NKC's was melancholic, David Bowie's was slow and epic, Toni's was room-enchanting stillness, this is like a smoky-jazz bar feel :3
