Literally me rewatching this piece two years later and tearing up just being reminded of how stressed and miserable I was in the days before the results came in, and how relieved and happy I was when it was all over. Just hearing him say the words _"he lost"_ made me cry again.
But he hasn't gone away. He is running again and his supporters have gotten even *worse* - their detachment from reality is complete. I don't see how we are going to move forward when a sizable portion of our population believe that every thing that makes them the slightest bit uncomfortable is fake news. It doesn't even have to be about Trump, or even politics anymore. All kinds of what I would call benign stories, as in they won't affect any ones lives and that they are events that are not far fetched at all - stuff that happens often - they are calling stuff even like that fake news if it is simply something they do not agree with. That can not go on, its not like a "we won't tolerate that" kinda thing - its a house divided will fall kinda thing.

I think it’s good to remember how batshit those years were in an effort to not become complacent for what batshit is yet to come. It’s also good to remember the absolute joy and relief I felt learning the election results from that year.

But the networks are responsible, too. They should have emphasised it more, that results would be premature in those states because of mail-in ballots that were counted after the in-person ballots were announced or they should not have announced these states at all.

Well you say but the later votes came from the real blue districts, funny how that happened that the blue district took significantly longer to count then everyone else what a coincidence.
