Their home is Ionia, it makes sense their immediate enemies would be human Ionian champs harnessing magic for their own needs (and Yas has enough running to do to be in an animatic anyways).

Three years later, this cinematic becomes officially canonical after the recent tale of the lore "A Piece of Shadow Cake". After so long since the launch of this cinematic, reading the story where this takes place was very nostalgic, each scene read during the story, referring to the scenes in this video. Best couple as always

The final part of the story is exactly The quinlon where Xayah and Zed fight is OUTSIDE the big city where they were, in the forest, exactly as shown in this cinematic. Rakan and Xayah left the city early in the morning, and found this red quinlon in the forest on the mountains, as it's said in the text itself: "The forest on the mountain was the color of ash", exactly as we see here in "Wild Magic" cinematic. In other words: Yes, thanks to "A Piece of Shadow Cake", this cinematic is officially 100% canonical.

Ok to anyone who is confused as to why Xayah and Zed fought.
TLDR: Zed was killing off her people - " vastayans"
Long Version: Vastayans are creature that basically breath natural magic, this is plentiful in Ionia (where they are) so they have no problem living. However Zed and his clan was harvesting the magic, hence the blue particles becoming red. With the magic gone her people could no longer live in that area (permanently), so Xayah's cause is to reclaim land that has been stole from her people. When she destroys the temple that was collecting the magic all of it returned, that's why Xayah was pleased when she saw the magic returning to the land. "Together, they fight to release Ionia’s abundant flow of magic so that the vastaya might thrive once again."

Rakan has comparably weaker shields yes, though the fact he can make two and has a small heal makes up for it + he's an engage champion with off tankiness so if his shield was something like an Janna shield he would basically be overpowered.
If u max it 2nd amd buy ap that 1hp shield is a 300-400hp shield ;)
