That was the worst part for me in the cinematic, they are fighting a ruined king and his abominations and a God like ruined guy appears but Graves just makes a joke about shirtless guys... It totally ruined the mood for me. This Hollywood comedy relief thing is in everything now.

I loved Yorick, Kalista, Hecarim, Maokai, Karthus, Lendros and Illaoi on this event. Thank god we got sentinel Olaf, Riven and Rengar, Irelia etc they were natural parts of the story.

Seeing what riot did to Shadow Isles I'd be happier with them forgetting about Mordekaiser and Aatrox instead of changing them into anime boys and ruining even more lore.
As of the latest cinematic, Thresh is already in Noxus abducting souls left and right, and was last sighted on his way to the immortal bastion itself…. Odds might just be Thresh ends up letting The Iron Revenant loose, by purpose, accident or by sheer coincidence/consequence.

This could have been an amazing story beat to bring all of the characters in the lore together in a significant way. Working together to stop the Ruination as friends and foes fought each other. The corrupted vs the non-corrupted.
Sejuani and Ash having to put their differences aside for the preservation of the Freljord.
A conflict of Demacian loyalists having to either stand alone in their principles or work with mages and sorcerers to stop the ruination.
Bilgewater being a staging area for transportation to the Shadow Isles to assault Viego's kingdom and source of power.
But no. An anticlimactic event that's treated like another Tuesday

Man I loved the part where Yorick, Maokai, and Kalista finish their lifelong missions. Oh man and that Hecarim part rattled me to the core.
Well none of them would have though… Kalista wants revenge on the person who killed her, aka hecarim (and as no champions can ever die she’ll never get that resolution), maokai wants to save the blessed isles and undo the ruination which killing the ruined king did not accomplish, and yorick like maokai wants to save the isles… the ruined king was only the beginning (and he did at least play a part in the client cinematic).
Also don’t forget that the ruined king game was meant to be before this event, good chance we’ll see these champions in that game instead.
That's a lie that no champ can die. The lore and the game aren't the same thing. Or are you seriously telling me that Viego would team up with a Yordle in a Mech Suit, an unkillable, blood-crazed Dharkin, The Emperor of Shurima and a Plant Witch against a bunch of other champs and that's canon? lmao
Also, you're just ignoring SO many voice lines from those champs about Viego and striking him down, notably Yorick and Maokai.
@@Swampert919 I never understood the whole idea that they dont want to kill champions because of the game. Summoners Rift is not canon. In fact the whole idea of "league of legends" just isnt canon at all. You can kill characters without it affecting the game cuz the game itself has nothing to do with the stories.
@@raulsauceda7392 it’s something riot backed themselves into a corner with when they removed gangplank from the game when he was ‘killed’ claiming that if a champion dies in the lore they’d be removed from the game. It was just a stunt but they’ve effectively made them not be able to kill anyone in he lore… hence why nobody ever died during this event, even when pyke literally stabbed miss fortune repeatedly underwater she survived because they can’t kill their champions.

This was so underwhelming and disappointing. Like they spent all this time making this big event and hyping up all the lore, only for it to end like this? This was just beyond anticlimactic and unfulfilling, and it's only made worse by the fact that it had the potential to be so great. Just sad.

Irelia can use blades she's not attuned with, rengar is capable of cut the head of a wraith (wich disappear after death, even more as the shots of sentinel weapon vaporize em) and make a thropy out of it

This honestly felt like a disappointment
It was a missed opportunity, I was expecting to see all the other sentinels gather up for a big fight with olaf dying and being angry after akshan revives him, and irelia reuniting with karma after she gets uncorrupted. It would be also amazing to see thresh absorbing the mist and turned into unbound thresh as the new king of the shadow isles, but this just ends up with one shot of isolde to save the day and live a happy ending. This was a missed opportunity and kind of a waste because everyone was really anticipated about how this event is gonna move the lore forward

Man, I do love the part when Atreus finally regained control over his body and helped the sentinels and Yorick out. Also Maokai looks really nice here, especially when put in contrast with Diana, Rengar, Irelia, Riven and Pyke. Truly marvelous.
I'm also happy that the vengeful spirit Kalista who seeks vengeance was able to get vengeance in this event

As Yorick enjoyer I also rly love to see Yorick's army of dead and how he fights for his vendetta. I am very glad that the Riots respect the lore of the characters.

I know alot of the lore doesn't make as much sense, and not that great, but the emotions potrayed from the loss of isolde hit me. As someone who has suffered losses before can't help but feeling a lil bit of empathy for Viego especially when he dropped the music box. My heart sank.

So literally the entire finale is just about Akshan walking in through a portal that Viego for some reason left open and shooting the ghost. Sick. How much effort did you put into this one? 5 minutes of writing? Everyone just gets knocked down for 1 minute, then just get up later and capture Viego like they did the first time. And then you try and milk that with an "emotional" reunion after they were separated for literally 30 seconds. Jesus christ, hire some better writers.

Well riot's story writing was always mediocre at best but people seem to over rate the lore for some reason all good
Viego is a prime example of true love but blind, even somewhat cruel and crazy. I think this character's love story at the same time teaches us that in love, anyone can become uncontrollable, cruel, and even dehumanized. All because of the person they love the most. Their love story is so sad and tragic, a part of me, I feel all Viego's anger, despair, and grief when he loses the person he loves the most.

For a split second I thought that Hecarim would appear to stop the sentinels instead of Pantheon... yup, then I remembered that there is no Lore Team in Riot.

Facts, the ending seemed so rush. The way Gwen died, senna got took and the way Viego left the portal open even though he’s closed it this whole time was so weird.
Cant wait for mordekaiser to return and clap the entire lore into another dimension so we can all forget this
I thought Viego would stop the resurrection and accepts his wife's death after hearing her, give back the souls and just leaves somewhere, also freeing the ruined heroes. Then Yorick felt his presence close (maybe an island made by Viego?) and began to head there. It could've been nice to see Viego realizing that doing what he want would end innocent people's lives and hearing his wife that she loves him alot and she wanted to rest, makes him change his mind and just try to stay alive as he knows some of the people in the shadow isles has a grudge on him (maybe the sentinels too).
Maybe this end happened but Thresh frees him and tries to tell him that senna and gwen are close but Viego, hearing his wife's words, just said to let them be and rest for a while but he felt something powerful is coming, and it just reveals some snippets of Yorick.

I like how the actual characters and story matter so little that we don't even get a good reaction from Viego finally seeing his wife again and being told she absolutely hates what he's done. Akshan has more of a reaction to Isolde's words than Viego.

Not really sure if it was because he “wasn’t reacting” as much as it was that her words did not matter to him, his only goal was a selfish one… get her back. It didn’t matter what she thought or how she felt so long as Isolde was with him again. That’s why he only reacted when she was gone, not while she was “speaking” but I’m pretty sure that was internal narration/narration from her POV for the cinematic. I don’t think she ever actually spoke.
Either way I’m pretty dissatisfied with how rushed this felt

Man I love when Yorick appears with his army of the dead to fight Hecarim commanding Viego's army and Kalista saving the day with a precise spearshot. Just a great send-off for these characters we've known and loved since the beginning

Just mentioning this as a Destiny player, but I just noticed Isolde has a light/life/good themed motif with a spherical whatever in her chest (I.E The Taveler/Gardener), Whilst Viego has a dark/death/evil one and a triangle on his chest (I.E. The Darkness/Winnower). Even the guessed at genders match (as much as one can assign such trivial distinctions to ancient, eldritch physical gods who may or may not even _have_ permanent, smaller physical forms besides the sphere and pyramids seen thus far.)

Amazing, once again Riot forgets about Yorick. HIS ENTIRE LORE IS ABOUT FIGHTING THE RUINED KING, but NOOOOO when they actually fight him he' just.... not there???? He's literally the only person other than Viego that can control the mist, so he would be an AMAZING ally. But in Riots eyes I guess he decided to take a day off from trying to save the planet. Yorick says "Remember my name. For one day, I will not.", I guess Riot didn't listen.

Yorick's character isn't boring, it's his playrate, and that of most of the other fitting shadowisles characters that keep them away from story events
So this is how it ends? I was so hyped up to see Yorick and Maokai make any appearance in this event, but looks like they aren't hot enough for the League cinematics

It's being outsourced to an external company who seem intent on being faithful to the lore and writing the characters well, so we don't have to worry about Riot's garbage marketing team rubbing their greasy hands all over it and ruining it.

Akshan had to be here to revive them. At least that's what happened in the client-embedded visual novel. Here, Senna is somehow still alive with Isolde's fragment being outside, but who knows.

Honestly, my best thought on this cinematic is "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed." There was so much more I was expecting from this storyline. I hope that the comics/other media that Riot produces for this event give more, or that this story will be continued with Thresh taking up the mantle as villain.

This cinematic is a summary, this isn't what happened. It's sort of like the Recaps at the start of episodes in series that explain what happened last time, it is just a short rendition of what happened, that is why there are multiple events happening right after eachother out of nowhere.

I think they probably didn't give the studio enough time when they pushed out the event to take extra details from the storyboard. Yorick, the two piltovan sentinels, the maiden, even vex didn't make it in. It's just rushed is all.

This whole event just overall felt unsatisfying and anticlimactic. As a huge fan of the lore, I was so excited to see more of the characters but it felt like everything was written by people who didn’t even read the characters’ bios.

I think it's just because Viego's addition to the lore is just absolutely stupid. Old lore was badass rune magic destroying the entire continent and then mysteriously receding with heaps of awesome factors. New lore is just "whoops my wife dead I guess it's apocalypse time but only when I feel like it"

Viego's addition was long ago before all this things happened that's why we had the weapon called Blade of the Ruined King. He was a mere hindrance compared to the Void, Darkins, and of course Rune Magic that Ryze is trying to protect.

Love how Yorick's entire story revolves around how he's using his curse to fight the Ruined King and end the Ruination for good, and all he did here was sprinkle some water on the sentinels.

The in game story, cinematic, and comics are all different. It wouldn’t be fun to jam over 12 characters in a 5 minute long short, so they picked the most important sentinels in the lore.
DUDE rengar was so cool, pyke doing his stuff u already know, and olaf going berserk dayum, irelia and riven do look happy fighting next to each other now, bruh that massive diana ult was insane tho, thank you rito!

it was interesting event, exept for the part where it completely fcked up the arcs of characters and future events like Diana's.
Maybe there fighting or holding of other ruined guys preventing them from reaching Lucian and the others
