You did sort of forget the best DLC for Warhammer 2, which is Warhammer 1. So many additional races, additional FLC, and an entire additional campaign that is even better than the standard Vortex campaign. :-)

Ah yes, having the best economy,best archers (Sisters and shades), some of the best frontline (Pheonix guards,Black guards), the best and also most annyoing flying monsters (arcane pheonixes,star dragons,black dragons),some of the best heroes in the game (masters,handmaidens,nobles,death hags) some of the best legendary lords in the game (alarielle,tyrion,alith anar,malekith,morathi,rakarth), Their cav should also be busted AF. Depth Guard was probably nerfed in every single patch since Vcoast came out lol. Nobody uses it in MP for a very long time, just for memes, but they keep nerfing it.

Vampire Coast were so insanely overpowered in multiplayer and stayed that way for way too long. They are just badly designed.

I respected the fact he did not as adblocking can personally effect his own income negatively. Also star stable hella funny and makes the comments way better, and more commenting also is good for him so maybe he planned that.

legit think that Legend just forgot that Huntsman General, archers, and hunters are DLC units, on account of he only associates them with Empire proper. Same with Ancient Kroxigors - he's said before that they're one of the best early-game lords for Lizardmen on account of being melee wrecking balls. But, the DLC was ages ago and hasn't gotten any love since then, so can you expect him to remember every little detail? The campaigns and factions introduced were 100% crap, the sacred kroxys and war wagons (the big advertised units) were crap, so he's got his point.

@@itarH They're tier 1, cheaper, and (except vs heavy armor, which you aren't going up against generally) the same performance as crossbowmen. So range aside, they're all around better. Legend's said himself that even after you get the barracks, the only reason to go Crossbows instead of Archers is for the increased AP damage. But the main benefit of Archers is that Tier 1 Main status. It lets you have an early-game spam of a good unit that can replenish itself after conquering a territory, regardless of the level you get the settlement at or what buildings you get with it. Think about all the starts you've seen with Franz - You can just start getting your archer stack going turn 1, instead of waiting until your main settlement is tier 2, then waiting until your barracks is tier 2, then starting to recruit.

Yeah, the archers are overall better than the crossbowmen. They are cheaper, more convenient than crossbowmen, although slightly less effective...
So Legend being the Uncle Scrooge he usually is always go for them, as he has the talent to make them still works against relatively high end armies...
But let's face it... They are not essential... If we fordid him recruit any of them in an empire campaign, Legend would be completely fine using crossbowmen... I don't even think he would grumble at all.
Whereas if we make him play a skryre campaign where he is forbidden of recruiting any weapon teams, he would hold on to his 2 initial weapon teams like they are the second avènement of Christ, and he would pest in every battle, wishing to have more of them...
My point is, archers are not great enough to be essential, and does not add any flavour to the empire roaster... Certainly not particular enough to justify putting the dlc above C rank by themself.

@@TeteBruleeFR The point is that Archers, by themselves, speed up an Empire campaign by a solid ten turns out of the first 50 or so because they're that much cheaper and more convenient. Add in Hunstman Generals, Hunters, Dread Saurian, and Kroxigor Ancients, and you have a solid block of DLC units that see common usage due to their effectiveness (Dread Saurian's tier 5, so I'll give you a grain of salt on that one). Not pay to win levels by any stretch, but a very good segment. The campaigns and LLs were crap, but I'd say the DLC rates a B rank as a "if you're a fan of these races, get it for the units - not the campaigns" rating. Basically, the equal of Silence and Fury - PARTS are definitely good, just not the Whole. Now archers aren't Weapons teams or Sisters of Avelorn, but they're a tier 1 settlement unit - they aren't going to be late-game effective, full stop. Honestly, to showcase how good they are I'd just say play an Empire campaign for the first 50 turns or so with the DLC enabled (Legendary/Very Hard), then turn it off for a second run and see how you fare. I think after you see how much harder the early-game expanding is, you'll change your mind on their value-added.
For the breakdown, consider: Archers: Recruit cost 350, upkeep 87, Base missile damage 19, 90 models. Crossbows: 475, 118, 24, and 68, respectively. So you're paying almost 33% more per unit both in recruit and upkeep for Crossbows, Archers are putting out 1,710 damage (19*90), where Crossbows are putting out 1,632 (24*68). The ONLY time crossbows shine through is when you're going against high-armor units (2 AP for archers vs 6 for crossbows) which you aren't doing as Empire most of the time (unless you're character-sniping, in which case Riflemen for the 17 AP). Not to mention, Archers put out 5 volleys in the time Crossbows put out 4 volleys (Reload 10 for Archers vs Reload 13 for Crossbows, meaning 6.7 volleys per minute vs 5.1), which makes the slight damage buff they have vs Crossbows even more egregious as the battle goes on. They even have the same accuracy, entity health, and melee stats. The only benefit Crossbows have is in range, missile damage (but lower model count so not really), and ammo. So if you're in a slog vs multiple full stacks, Archers are gonna run dry faster. But if you're looking for an early-game spam vs Ork Boyz and Vampire zombie/skeleton stacks, Archers are gonna put more damage on target before the melee infantry hit them, meaning they'll do better in the ensuing melee, meaning they'll take less damage overall, meaning you can conquer more before having to stop, consolidate, and recruit more.
This doesn't even consider the 5 turns (3 for tier 2 Altdorf, 2 for tier 2 barracks) and 3600gp (1600gp for Altdorf, 2000gp for barracks) to even start recruiting crossbows.

They have to charge for it - in other case any child could install it when parents aren't at home and than uninstall after finishing game. But it should be some really low amount (like 0,1$) so you still must have access to your credit card and account to install it but don't need to pay much for it...

@@Armant. They absolutely do not have to charge for it, there are other games on steam with blood DLCs for free. The reason that CA gives is that they charge for it because it takes time to make.

People still defending game company's terrible practices with things like "it takes time to make" or "the developers need to put food on theirs family's tables". These companies make tens or hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Cod announced in the last year ago that they reached over 1 billion in earnings in a single year. With a single game with Warzone! Please stop defending these terrible practices.

The roster and army limits are great, that's one of my favorite parts of SFO too (very glad they picked that up from it). It just makes everything FAR more dynamic and makes more "realistic" combined arms armies much more viable/necessary.

I kinda wish they would implement recruitment caps tied to buildings in every race. It would force players to innovate more instead of spamming doomstacks, and would also kill the ability of the AI to do so. Yes they don't do it often, but it's really outrageous when they do given their cheating potential. No human player with a single province can afford an all dragon doomstack but the AI will gladly do so.

Yes, it is one of the many beautiful things about that amazing DLC. But, I am not for unit caps. Maybe, but in another way. See, I have next to no objection if Caledor(both the province and Imrik) uses a lot of dPrinces or Dragons, Ellyrion with Cavalry(also Imrik), Eshin with Eshin stuff etc. What I DO have beef against, though, is when a Cothique(or what have you) rolls with full Dragon, Sisters of Avelorn etc doomstacks.
So, thematic unit caps? Yes. Hardline unit caps? No.

I use a mod that adds the MP Unit costs and you have a funds cap for your army. So you can go elite, but have a smaller army

There is no pay to win in SP, some are way stronger than others but its up to you which you want to play. In mp obviously all dlc are pay to win since you just cant go wrong with having more options.

Imrik's my vote for the top spot, the annoyance of the early challenges with the Skaven leads to some amazing early game play that I found very enjoyable, it's a very "different" High Elf experience vs Ulthuan or Lizardmen, and the Dragon flavor is fun.
But a tier list for all of them would be a lot of fun!

My friend who Im doing a vs campaign against(Skaven vs Lizardmen) doesn't know about the power of ratling guns he thinks he's gonna beat me with Temple Guard Stegadon spam 😂😂

Probably on release, but now I dont think they are essential. Ratling guns are not very good anymore, and jezzails while good can be switched out with mortars or catapults. When playing as other factions I dont find that I need to use units from the skryre dlc. Probably the most recent dlc is stronger with wolf rats and packmasters.

@@TheBarser 2 weeks latter and ratling guns are S tier on LOTW tier list.

This was the dlc that made me realise that the ai has access to units that are dlc locked for the player. And I think it's unfair, that I have to go out to units I can't play with in an other campaign.

You could just get the dino with regrowth charges ... because earth blood isnt really giving that much hp and managing to group the damaged units together in the middle of battle doesnt really work well with slowly lumbering and HUGE units. Not using mana leaves you free to use it for offensive purposes ... or other stuff like Lord Kroak.

Having to progress to a T5 city in order to increase the cap on the Skink Oracle makes it a garbage hero in my opinion because most campaigns end before you start fielding them in significant numbers.

Did he though? You're lucky to have even two Oracles or Banshees before turn 100.

Wood elfs can be fun it's not bad dlc at all.

I also like WE and do not agree with Legend at all. Their unique mechanic is refreshing and really encourages a different playstyle than other races.

I remember watching a similar tier list on another channel (I think it was The Great Book of Grudges but I'm not sure). He put The Grim & The Grave as one of the best DLCs, above The Queen & The Crone and The Shadow & The Blade. And I couldn't understand why. Empire bias is the only thing that comes to my mind. It's one of two DLCs I don't have and he put it almost at the top.

1) Stegadon. Decent artillery mounted on a very strong monster.
2) Doom Diver Catapult. Few other artillery pieces can single-handedly destroy a 20 stack garrison.
3) Hellstorm Rocket Battery. A few of these bad boys destroys almost anything the AI will send your way.
4) Organ Gun. Turns infantry and cav to mince meat in seconds, as well as monsters.
5) Wildcard I guess. I really enjoy the consistent performance of Plagueclaw Catapults. Easily the best early-game artillery piece of any faction.

@@azeon562 ah fair dude. I might be wrong about this but I wouldn't put doom diver cata in the top 5. I know they're accurate asf but whenever I've put them against anything other than single targets I've been very disappointed, they just don't seem to be that destructive.

@@drsgme69 In an open field they're still better than most artillery, but they're hilariously powerful in a siege. Hellstorms and organ guns are probably better overall, but I'm biased. I love the goblin airforce.

Honestly sisters should be a tier 4 unit, with an exception for a landmark that allows them in tier 3 for Avelorn.

Markus's campaign is super fun on normal or hard, but on very hard or legendary it's just an absolute slog where you have to fight 4 full lizardmen stacks a turn. Makes sense why Legend hates it, he's probably never played it on any difficulty except legendary.

Totally agree. I absolutely loved the Wulfhart campaign and I respectfully disagree with Legend’s C ranking… maybe for Nakai, but I thoroughly enjoyed Markus’s Vortex campaign.

Good for you, I still hate the skaven. Started two campaigns as Ikit Claw, quit them both around turns 30-50 because I didn't enjoy them at all. I like Cult of Sotek though :P

problem with Lizardmen is they were the strongest race on release. CA can't really give them anything useful without it being completely OP unless they nerf the existing OP dinos, and if they did that everyone would raise hell thinking that CA was nerfing them to force players to buy the DLC. It's a no win situation for Lizardmen unfortunately.

@@maxvarjagen9810 That doesn't make sense. Lizardmen have NEVER been stronger than HE or even DE campaign wise. Nobody complains about Lizardmen units we are complaining about their boring and broken campaigns. Buffing their campaigns won't affect the lame MP balance at all.

Dark elves went 0/2 and got two FLC lords of which one basically doesn't have a mechanic.
The biggest decider between DE lords are literally their start position because their Lord and campaign effects barely matter.
If CA released a DE vs LM dlc I wonder who'd get the shortest end.

In my opinion Lizardmen are one of the races most crippled by supply lines. Their roster is fine, but not on campaign when their saurus warriors cost as much upkeep as sisters of averlorn with none of the high elf economy to back it up.

Considering how they are and how they turned out. They were right to not include them. It was only after incessant whining that they went and made it a dlc. Which was a mistake since that faction clearly needed more time in the oven.

I own all of them besides Chaos because Chaos sucks. nOrska also sucks now, but I liked it lore-wise.

They have the most crappy ass economy. Their starting location is extremely static, okay that is solved now but was for 90% of the time not. But the ecnonomy prevents you from securing some places when you already could. The main part of wood elves dlc comes from the seperate campaign in wh1, which isnt updated anymore and is extremely tedious to play.
Drycha which comes as flc with this dlc is bugged since the start, specially parts evolving around coeddil, but also disappearence of certain units like spiders, and all lords getting malovent once confederated.
Wood elves dlc is not great, if you would have picked only sisters of twilight you dont miss anything.
And there are still some parts missing like petrified forest that could have been a settlement and/ or forest of arden (which by GW map has wood elves enclave in it).
And they shouldnt depend on their capital alone for trading....

@@Marmamartha Legend is judging DLC not on how it was, but how it is. After the rework Wood Elves have one of the most unique campaigns in TWW.

The cavalry rework was a long time coming, I think we all knew that it was coming, since the Jabberslythe has a sync kill animation for Cavalry, implying that someone would actually use Cavalry.
