I feel your pain. Have you ever needed that one brick which you used in another creation which you kept. It felt so bad when I took apart an old set for a new one.
This guy had no idea the impact he would have on the world. BIONICLE is not just my favorite LEGO franchise, but one of my favorite fictional universes, and I likely wouldn't have it if not for Oleg, Gottfriend and all of their help. (And some thanks to my Polynesian heritage)
It’s very sad that Bionicle never did achieve its full potential; at least 2 more movies, more toy lines, but it was a great decade while it lasted. I loved the Bionicle movies and toys, I had this Pirake Vezok figure I loved

I am 27 I’ve been playing with Legos literally my entire life so it was really good to see where it all came from thank you for putting this out and I appreciate the work of olay and his family for decades of entertainment
What an amazing & inspiring story so beautifully told & illustrated. Made me think of my late father who was a master craftsman. He was a school teacher who taught woodworking & technical drawing amongst other subjects. His workshop was a shed at the bottom of the garden where he spent most evenings making furniture etc. When he retired he spent a lot of his time handcrafting wooden toys for children at a nearby hospital/home for disabled children. The last thing he did was set off on his bicycle to buy linseed oil to finish some toys he was working on. He collapsed & never came out of hospital. He was 81. I was his oldest daughter & he'd hoped for a son. My childhood toys were not dolls but meccano (erector sets) & other building sets with tiny bricks, mortar & trowels that u could build miniature houses with. I learned a lot from him. Later in life I was able to do carpentry, tiling, plumbing etc. Thanks for posting this lovely video.
Wow Lego was first created as a toy but now it has reached unimaginable heights. Legos can now be used to make prosthetic arms/legs, drivable car, Bridge that is almost half the height of statue of liberty and robotic engineers use legos for their own creations. Ole K. and his future generations are genius.
What an amazing origin story of how the LEGO company started, it does remind me of my childhood when I watched this animation video and then started taking interest in Legos.
This was seriously one of the best little videos that I've ever seen! I had no idea of the story! My 2 sons (now 34 & 36) lived for Legos even up into their 20's! They still have most of them. My son has autism. All he loved to do was put his men together. He has probably 5000 maybe? Now he tries as hard as he can to do the sets. Even with his thick glasses, still tries and succeeds. Legos are my sons best friend. Plus his friends at school who adore his little men. ❤️

Why do I remember watching this like over and over again when I was younger.
Maybe it's because you did just like me
@Mystery ? 8? Heh, looks like you're experiencing the nostalgic vibes already

I was never interested in Lego until a week ago where my grandma bought me a set. I did struggle but I have to admit it was pretty fun connecting the bricks together
My son has autism. All he loved to do was put his men together. He has probably 5000 maybe? Now he tries as hard as he can to do the sets. Even with his thick glasses, still tries and succeeds. Legos are my sons best friend. Plus his friends at school who adore his little men. ❤️

Marx, wait what!?
Lego , the best toy ever made. Even now that I am a father of two and doing business in finance, I wish I could work at Lego as a toy designer
Love LEGO and the kits Just a lot of fun at any age
