He is honestly the greatest actor of his generation, no contest. The man should have at least three oscars. The movie he finally won for... it was impossible to lose because he literally went to the ends of the earth to get that award. Shouldn't have been like that for him. Maybe the academy thought he was cocky, or too good looking.
It's always a cheap nomination playing a mentally challenged character. It's worked so many times. Yes, it was a great performance for a kid that young. Watch Rain Man again and see it was Tom Cruise's performance that was at least as good as Hofman's. He was fantastic.

I had a crush on Leonardo DiCaprio my entire life! I I had him all over my walls as a teenager. I have tremendous respect for Leo because he has always been a great example of a hard worker. Someone who can dedicate large amounts of time, energy enthusiasm and work ethic. These qualities are very rare and he is a great man! I was introduced to Leonardo DiCaprio after seeing The Basketball Diaries and fell in love with him after watching Baz Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet, one of my all time favorite movies. Leonardo can't do a bad movie because every one he is in is amazing. I really liked this doc and hope to see more just like this one with other actors/actresses
Excellent documentary. L. DiCaprio IMHO was best in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", "Titanic", "Gangs of New York", "The Departed", "The Wolf Of Wall Street", "Gangs of New York", and "The Revenant". The first and last movies I mention are my favorites. I have a son on the autism spectrum and even though I feel his conversation and eye contact was "too good" in the movie, his behavior and quirks were spot on. I adore this man and his passion for acting and his love of planet earth. Climate change is real and keep fighting that fight, LC.
This was a GREAT documentary! Next to Jack Nicholson, Leo is my favorite actor. He is extremely talented, has depth, versatility and sooo captivating to watch. Many of his movies are my favorites because he chooses to portray memorable characters and stories that matter. He does seem like a very intelligent, deep man, whose advocacy for the care of our planet is commendable (aside from his weakness for beautiful young models), he's just about perfect.

Gilbert Grape was filmed in a farmhouse in my neighborhood. I didn't notice until the director came over to stop me from cutting my grass. the noise was picking up on the recording equipment. lol

I have a son on the autism spectrum and even though I feel his conversation and eye contact was "too good" in the movie, his behavior and quirks were spot on. I adore this man and his passion for acting and his love of planet earth. Climate change is real and keep fighting that fight, LC.

This was a GREAT documentary! Next to Jack Nicholson, Leo is my favorite actor. He is extremely talented, has depth, versatility and sooo captivating to watch. Many of his movies are my favorites because he chooses to portray memorable characters and stories that matter. He does seem like a very intelligent, deep man, whose advocacy for the care of our planet is commendable (aside from his weakness for beautiful young models), he's just about perfect.
He doesn't have range, depth and versatility,he is just a nice guy to pretend he is an actor lol and people say because he has played in amazing movies he is one of the greatest ever ( thanks Scorsese for all the movies ) .
Gilbert Grape was filmed in a farmhouse in my neighborhood. I didn't notice until the director came over to stop me from cutting my grass. the noise was picking up on the recording equipment. lol
