Now shields can block all explosives but take a lot of durability and do a lot of knock back so that’s why I always got a shield instead of a totem

the real thing that makes hardcore so difficult is this: pressure and having to perform under it. pressure is the silent killer of hardcore because many people are led to make irrational decisions or simply perform worse because of it. this isn't really the case for normal mode because you can just respawn and collect the stuff you dropped, but in hardcore, every single bit of progress you made is in jeopardy. this causes a lot of people to feel under pressure so they often times end up dying because of a dumb decision or wrong move. watch hardcore death compilations, almost all of them are because someone failed to execute in the moment, such as fumbling to equip their water bucket or elytra after accidentally falling off a tall bridge

For anyone watching this now: There's an easy solution to spiders climbing over walls: Trap doors! Yep, set a few trap doors on top of the walls, make sure they're horizontal, and the spider's can't get over them. I learned this tip trying to mob-proof a village, the spiders were not fun. I can give guys two extra advices in minecraft
1: Use shields, they negate all damage what so ever
2: villager trading is overpowered and broken, exploit that.

Sheilds work great but a lot of deaths are from sudden accidents like creeper sneak attacks fall damage or falling into lava which a sheild wont help you with but a totem will, it is nice to be able to block some if the mobs with sheilds

@@lothric1593 i know, but if you hear a creeper sneaking in you still have time to react with a shield, about that lava and fall damage, yes shields are useless but a bucket of water works like a charm. Totems are great but are really hard to get early game

Yes I allways use shikd in the early game but from my experience there us a slight delay from using it and its protecting me, it might just be that I have lag issues but its killed me a fee times with the delay, water buckets can save ou from lava great, but if you fall into it from a high spot and get completely submerged then it wont save you or being in the neather, I still allways bring a water bucket. Also I usually carry a sheuld with me and use it in some areas like end structures

I actually did start my own hardcore world. I spawned in a snowy biome, got some spruce, and sailed somewhere that led me to a desert village. My house will eventually be the temple nearby. I've found diamonds and gone to the Nether for 10 seconds. I have a wheat farm and cows to breed and planted some saplings on my roof. I'm really catious, and I think I'm doing great so far.

This series inspired my friend and I to start our own hardcore world. We died about 5 times, but we now have a great world, with regular raids, a villager compound, and max enchants on our tools, the next step for us is getting netherite. We just passed the 200 day mark not too long ago. Thank you for the great videos!

I find the hardest part about hardcore is just the cheap deaths. Stuff like a creeper falling on you from above and exploding before you can react, or you falling through a 1 block hole in the nether into some lava.

In Minecraft in general the best strategy I’ve ever found is to just get enough for a bed find a village get food then travel and travel and travel until I find the perfect hill to build inside of and turn it into my home grabbing temples and blacksmith villages along the way.
