Used to hate mgk, then I actually started listening to him and he’s genuinely one of the most creative artists making music rn. I actually love how he mixes his rap style with his alternative rock style, it sounds fucking fire together. I never hear people appreciate your storytelling. To me it seems pretty genius. Rap is an amazing way of art because you can put so much stuff into a few minutes. Or at least you can! How can someone make an entire rap song, and put a thought into every sentence. Like litteraly, i watched probably all your interviews, and i see the pattern, how what you say in interviews connects with your lyrics. Amazing. Thanks for what you are doing, even though i think that you write songs for yourself, not for other people, continue what you are going! It is amazing
I have always said that MGK is one of hip hop's best storytellers, and compared him with the like of Nas and Scarface. I mean, did you listen to death in my pocket? The theme, the cadence, or the lyrics might not be up to everybody's taste, but it's ridiculous to claim that this guy can't tell a story.
ReallyUnexplainable Yea MGK is a very underrated storyteller. I think his best example of storytelling is Merry Go Round. That shit was crazy when I first heard it.
His earlier works like merry go round , the story of the stairs , dark side of the moon , etc. Are also some of the best storytelling songs he has u should give em a listen
