Nah his content was funny and happened to be offensive. That's the difference between good dark humor and bad dark humor. Some people are just offensive and aren't even funny.
I find this interaction super funny. Me: He's wrong there. Them: That's the joke. It's a subversion of expectations. Me: I've explored this subversion of expectations before so this is not a shock to me, and it lead to unironic behavior that got people hurt, and I think we shouldn't be having fun with these ideas as if they're harmless. Them: Oh no, someone's triggered! *simulates seizure* And nothing is gained, and Joji apologizes years later when he learns what he did was harmful, and then some of these weird old fans become weird reactionaries that drop the content creator and just take way too long to see the problem they were part of. This happens all the time in politics with stuff that's just obviously uncomfortable harmful innuendo in the format of a joke that's not actually funny like "We should just take everyone that's done X nonviolent crime and harvest them for bones, wouldn't that be a funny joke? This doesn't indicate anything about my beliefs since I said it like it was supposed to be funny. Anyone upset at this opinion has no sense of humor and I will disregard any attempt to address the subject matter or the consequences (please let me get away with saying my harmful opinions out loud)." And by "I find this funny" I mean I find it monotonous, unfunny, anti-intellectual, borderline ignorant, and just painful.
good forum weapon
when I introduce people to Filthy Frank and they say that his content is super offensive
I swear that's how it be
Offensive ❌️ Ignorant ✅️
