I'm trying to remember if it was 2012 or 2013 but I was driving a school bus just north of Memphis TN for the Tipton County schools and one of my students started singing this song ( he was in 3rd grade at the time ) and I was listening to the words, I asked him where he heard the song and he replied that it was the Thrift shop song😂 and that's how I found this song. The melody is incredible too...I can't dance but ya can't help to move when this song comes on. Plus , thrifting is a great way to reduce, reuse, recycle. Great song.

I guess you call it a "hit" - on Hank, and failed, but Hank was seriously injured. And I wound up paying his medical bills, which amounted to a little over $177,000. Upon recovery, Hank was bent on revenge. Working with a man named Hector Salamanca, he plotted to kill Fring. The bomb that he used was built by me, and he gave me no option in it. I have often contemplated suicide, but I'm a coward. I wanted to go to the police, but I was frightened. Hank had risen to become the head of the Albuquerque DEA. To keep me in line, he took my children. For three months, he kept them. My wife had no idea of my criminal activities, and was horrified to learn what I had done. I was in hell. I hated myself for what I had brought upon my family. Recently, I tried once again to quit, and in response, he gave me this. I think what made this song so iconic was they took such a mundane, lower class activity and hyped it up. Instead of "look at how much money I spent on this inane luxury brand" they went "look at how much money I DIDN'T spend."
They did it with full sincerity too. It never felt like they were being sarcastic or that they were mocking it. They genuinely made it seem cool and fun, which it was!
