    On the off chance you ever read this, I wanted to share a short story. My wife and I have been dating/married for 7+ years now and she has twin nieces. One is on the spectrum and the other is a borderline genius. I found you channel years ago when I had just met the girls and it reminded me of a demonstration my physics teacher gave us in high-school. Boil about an inch of water in a pop can and flip it with tongs into a bowl of cold water. Resulting pressure vacuum from the temp change instantly crushes the can. The first time I actually connected and bonded with the nice on the spectrum was when I recreated this in front of them after watching some of you videos. She and I then spent the next 2 hours purging through your channel. I truly appreciate you so much. You're an awesome dude.

I was passionate about safety had a video by a high school physics teacher explaining those points you taught. It was big fun for me to be the guy teaching these kids how the physical world works and how it effects them in every aspect of our lives. I loved your final thought. I have often told my students that they must stay curious.
    The holes is to weaken the post enough that when hit by the force of an automobile, it will give and break thereby extending the Time the Force acts on the car and its occupants. It's the same reason the seatbelt stretches and the air bag, once deployed gives and slowly deflates.
    Not sure "how" the filament in the road bed works to cycle the light, but I am fairly certain that it has something to do with the metal mass of the vehicle. Bikes don't trip it and many motorcycles wouldn't trip the early ones though they have improved. You can buy large magnets to mount on you bike and motorcycle that supposedly will trip them.

    • @genelomas332
      @genelomas332 2 년 전 +1

      The wires in the road carry an electric current, the computer in the control box on the side of the road knows what this current is, and when a car pulls up over it, the metal of the car absorbs some of the current by induction.. the car basically becomes a very weak electromagnet.
      As a result, the current in the wire in the road drops, the computer recognises this drop, and the circuit trips, changing the lights.

About the yellow spikes on truck tire bolts- it’s to make sure they don’t get loose and in case they do it will be noticeable. About the traffic lights- (at least in New Jersey where I live) they have cameras. About the reflective signs- something tells me it’s thousands of miniature mirrors shining back whatever it sees. Yellow bins on the highway are in case someone crashes into the divider their car doesn’t split into two- the yellow bins absorb the impact.

    *The holes are to allow the sign to shear off if you hit it with your car.
    *Not sure about the doors
    *The nuts... I would think it's to allow the driver to be sure none of the lugs are loose?
    *I heard the scales thing as well, but I've seen videos that, if I recall, your car creates a disturbance in the magnetic field generated by a coil buried in the pavement.
    *I think it was a how it's made video, they had glass microbeads in the paint used on the signs. Obviously, the more reflective the material used the better the end result. Something about the bead consolidating light from multiple angles.
    *Water barrels. Again for car crashes. They decelerate your vehicle much like an air bag. The barrel bursts on impact and absorb some of the force of the impact. I've not heard of them being filled with sand though.
