Summary: 1 in 4 Americans thinks NASA's budget should be reduced. I feel this stems from misunderstandings like how much NASA actually gets in the first place. I tried to shed some light on some of the work NASA does from my personal experience to make a case for why NASA is one of the best investments we make with our tax dollars.

The biggest issue I have with people saying "why are we funding NASA when we still have issues with homelessness etc..." is that they have no intention of funding solutions to those issues. They just want to defund nasa
So correct. There is no political will to stop homelessness. There’s no money for a business or politician to make.

what if nasa had the military budget?
Second thought made a video on that
iRx Destiny Then we would not have a country.
iRx Destiny they could then get some much more done. Simply put short their greatest discovery was made thru saving money for years so that they can have enough just for that one project.
he said what if nasa had the military budget, iRx Destiny did not say take militarys budget and give it to nasa... learn how to read.
iRx Destiny then we would probably have a settlement on the moon already. But that is impossible, we pour billions upon billions of dollars into military............defending from ourselves.

My dad spent 20+ years in the space program. I'm not even sure he has a photo of him. Lots of classified tech, and strict clean room regulations.
You can see many more in the mars rover video, although they flash pretty quickly
I think its because its with him and the rover he worked on so he extremely proud of it

NASA is waiting money because they are making stuff we don’t need and we should leave it to SpaceX
WillXDGaming
Have you looked at the stuff that NASA is responsible for? SpaceX is taking already established technologies and making them better. But, without NASA's original efforts SpaceX wouldn't be around today. I hate government spending, but acknowledge that governments can afford to not make money on an endeavor, so NASA might hit a lot of dead ends, but some of those unexplored roads will lead to things like Velcro or memory foam. These are things that profit driven companies might not have ever discovered since a profitable company needs to make money... and it only makes sense that they would invest in items they can market and make profit from.

"The first person to set foot on Mars is alive right now. They could be in junior high or high school. He or she could be watching this video right now.
It could be you."
-Mark Rober
This is literally the best thing I've heard all day and struck me in such an amazing way. It's amazing to think that me or one of my friends or another middle schooler/ high school could be the first one on Mars. I love this statement!!

Goddammit, these videos are so awesome Mark. I've been watching you for a couple years now and cannot get enough of your go-getter attitude and your excellently simplistic delivery of these videos. This channel has not only made an impact on me, but millions of others. Consider this a thank you, from me to you :).
