I used to work in an arcade and had one of these things in it. Winning percentages are tracked weekly with the goal of paying out 25 percent in prizes of the revenue those games brought in. I had to track ticket payouts weekly and adjust. The older ones we had to adjust mechanically, but I loved these ones because it was just a matter of changing a setting on the logic board.

As a former arcade tech (albeit 20 years ago) I can confirm Cyclone can be set to payout jackpots at variable intervals and also people would stand there with a cup of tokens and just keep plunking them in. Cyclone was one of our top 3 ticket games for my entire 2 years at the arcade and I'm not surprised it still exists to this day. For the record, MOST of our non-skill based (ie not skeeball or basketball) redemption games from that time period had ways of being set to payout jackpots variably.

I worked at an arcade for 5 years. A lot of the games are rigged. It obviously depends on the game, but many of them have options where you can set the payout rate. Games like Cyclone, Stacker, Keymaster, etc. Stacker and Keymaster, where you put in a very expensive prize to draw people in (Xbox, PS4, Beats, etc.), we would set a 1/1000 payout rate. So we'd always be guaranteed to make money on it. My boss even told one of my coworkers before we opened for the day, to play Stacker until he wins. He literally played the game for 1.5 hours straight, won the game, so it reset the payout, so we wouldn't have to give out a prize for another month or whatever.
Arcades are scams, simple as that. I honestly thought it was just common knowledge though, I'm surprised everybody doesn't know this.

He was also a fool because players notice that nothing ever gets won and they stop playing it. Games that people see a win on get played more. It's a case of giving up some money to make a lot more.

It's a game where someone will win each time.
It's located on the midways, and generally under a tent with seats.
Grab a beer and a sandwich , or whatever, and just sit back and enjoy.
They let me go from my job as a carny , for I gave away a couple of the big prizes that are rigged .
The big ones are rarely won.
I was basically stealing money from 13 year old kids.
      It bothered me.
So I gave a couple away.
      F**k Um

You've been to a fair most likely .
You've played the games of chance most likely too.
The thread here is, " I've was always bad at these games " .
My comment sheds a very brief , in agreeance . along with personal experience ,
reason why LTazze was bad at these games.
      The reason being , *there're rigged* .
      I was a carny .
If you don't know what one is, here's a link to explain .
      Carny=Carnival worker ; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carny
BTW . A great upload like this now has *79* dislikes.
      The averages a excellent though.
If you want to have fun at the fair, or other places that have games like this,
don't blow your money on them.
Play something that you can enjoy, sit and relax .
Have you ever played I Got It ?

I hate those tickets machines for two reasons:
    1) They are gambling machines for kids
    2) They replace games in the arcades and most people prefer them to some good old videogames

Beuzer0 arcade games allow you be active and practise timing skill. Video games have you just sit there.

Not sure if i got your message or if you got mine, but by "good old videogames" i of course meant about arcade videogames. Not ticket machines.

Beuzer0 oh sorry I thought you meant video games like Minecraft are better than being active. Sorry

@@theeditingpug7822 Videogames don't offer timing skills? Please. F-Zero GX begs to differ.

Br!an Delta V I think being active is better than video games where you just sit there, and I’ve almost never played a video game.

I worked at a arcade when I was a teenager. There were settings which made it nearly impossible to win.
