It all started years ago. Started with a system they implemented to avoid getting taken down through copyright infringement by asshole celebrities who thought none should be allowed to use their songs or listen to them in their own videos that are monetized. Of course they weren't as rich then so when someone with millions of dollars doesn't like your website well you gotta listen or go down. So youtube did as those assholes wanted.

Literally every change they've been making, or rather what susan has been making, has only further damaged the community and platform. KRplus was never perfect, but it wasn't this bad of a crapfest either.

Of course KRplus recommends this the minute they get caught with their pants down during another controversy. Also, I hope that this video getting pushed into other people's recommendations will only solidify that Mark isn't to blame for the current stuff happening with age restriction. I've seen some people attempt to blame him for no other reason than he's got a bigger channel and it's really sad to me. Mark sticks his neck out on the stuff that counts and I hope that this video is a reminder to everyone about that.
Yeah the situation isn't about Markiplier specifically at all. It's about YT using him and other popular channels as like some sort of "reference sheet to a good channel" to judge everyone else to the harshest degrees.
Just watched the Click's video on the topic, his experiences he shared was horrifying. It really opens your eyes to how ridiculously lazy and incompetent YT has been for ages.

From being around when KRplus was in its infancy, I know KRplus didn't really bank on being the source of many people's income, but their refusal to grow has been ultimately what has been hurting them for years. They claim they're doing all of this work to protect creators but we've seen so much evidence that it just isn't happening. I'm glad that we have creators sticking their necks out and possibly jeopardizing their relationship with KRplus for the sake of making the platform better. Maybe NOW they'll listen. I'm pessimistically hopeful for now.

If my account gets banned I could lose ALL of my essays and assignments, and even a lot of my lecture notes.
And even the things I enjoy for fun would be gone. I would lose my access to my online guitar lessons and likely have to start over again. And on top of that, I would lose piano lessons too, and I PAY for those.

Years later and KRplus’s automated system is still screwing things up. It’s not working the way it should, and channels following the guidelines get punished. Feel sorry for Corykenshin, he’s the most child friendly channel there is and he gets dealt a bad hand.
It’s doubtful KRplus understands the severity of what they’ve become, and issues like this will continue to arise until enough creators big and small band together to speak against KRplus.
