I actually kind of like this phone, if you are going to be worse on paper, at least be cool while doing it. Only reason I held on to it is because it has a headphone jack. Other than that my daily is the LG V40 with a quad sad audio jack. Apple wonders why iphone sales went down. They got rid of the most simplistic audio component... The headphone jack. Dongles are so convenient and useful. Apple cutting corners. Apple and Google dont make any of their phones. They just add on their software. Apple uses samsung and LG displays. Has a third party make their chips. Has sony make their cameras and we wonder why they're over priced. Same with Google. I enjoy the original pixel but I wouldnt be paying 800 bucks for a 4

Sales for *everybody* went down, not because some companies removed a dumb 60 year old port to increase battery size, but because of global market saturation. More people have smartphones than toilets on earth, and many are perfectly ok with their older device (even ones without a headphone jack). Folding does not make it more comfortable in the pocket, because it is still wide, but now you just have to reach down twice as far to pull it out, then open it (which takes time), then use it. It is a compromise *and* you pay more.
On the companies making their own hardware thing, no. Nobody is fully vertically integrated, that is basically impossible. But Apple has *by far* the least generic, most exclusive components. Every android phone is *literally* the same chipset with a different shell. Apple designs and engineers 99% of that in-house. The only thing another company makes is the Display *panel* , which judging by the inferior APL brightness of the note 10, isn’t as important as the display controller, which Apple makes. Apple designs all their own things, they just don’t *manufacture* most of them. It is Apple Tech made *under contract* with *3rd Party Equipment.* But Apple’s better engineered components are only found on the iPhone. There is not a *single* significant duplicate component on the iPhone 11 Pro Max as any other phone, period.
Also the Sony camera isn’t the component that makes the camera the best, it’s the Apple-designed and calibrated stabilization, ISP, and semantic rendering algorithm.

This is some new tech merged with old models. You think you will get a foldable phone with the price equal to a normal phone? Every iPhone is overpriced and look the same but people still buy them. Another option, go buy a Galaxy Fold for $2000, that isn't even a phone. It's a tablet. Btw are your Chinese phones durable? Have long battery life? Have new design every time or look the same?

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the chinese manufacturers make a RAZR clone for a third of the price lol.

I remember when phones werent so fragile that dropping them 5 inches from the floor didnt break the god damn thing.

I had the blackberry torch, slider phone. I dropped it off the peak of a very, very big barn, accidentally. Can't remember what it hit when it landed, but it was solid, not dirt. All that happened was the battery cover flew off and the battery popped out. Popped it all back together and was perfect. Now, phones are built to break.

Well it is kind of protected when it is folded. It's not like you're average smartphone where the screen is always exposed. But yeah it is a lot more touch sensitive it's the same as the Galaxy folding phone.

I don’t think that’s a “conspiracy” buddy, it’s just a theory/assumption.

There is no crease. The screen curls up at the hinge, hence, no sharp crease forms.
